Further tightening the special friendship between Vietnam and Cuba

Comrade Truong Thi Mai affirmed that the Party, State and people of Vietnam always stand side by side and wish to further strengthen the special solidarity and friendship with the Party, State and people of Cuba, bringing the relationship between the two countries to continuously develop and become increasingly better in the new period.

On the afternoon of May 17, at the Party Central Committee Headquarters, Comrade Truong Thi Mai, Politburo member, Standing member of the Secretariat, Head of the Central Organizing Committee, cordially received the high-ranking delegation of the Cuban Revolutionary Defense Committee led by Comrade Herado Ernandez Nodello, Central Committee member of the Communist Party of Cuba, State Council member of the Republic of Cuba, President of the Cuban Revolutionary Defense Committee, on a working visit to Vietnam.

Comrade Truong Thi Mai warmly welcomed the working visit to Vietnam of the delegation of the Cuban Revolutionary Defense Committee; expressed her joy at the special solidarity and friendship between the two Parties, two States and peoples that continues to develop well; emphasized that the special, exemplary, impartial, loyal and pure friendship between the two Parties, two States and peoples of Vietnam and Cuba, established by President Ho Chi Minh and Leader Fidel Castro, and cultivated by generations of leaders and peoples of the two countries over the past 60 years, is a priceless common asset that needs to be preserved and constantly developed. Comrade Truong Thi Mai affirmed that the Party, State and people of Vietnam always stand side by side and wish to further strengthen the special solidarity and friendship with the Party, State and people of Cuba, bringing the relationship between the two countries to constantly develop and become increasingly better in the new period.

Comrade Truong Thi Mai also expressed her joy at the positive results that Cuba has achieved in recent times and affirmed the support of the Party and State of Vietnam for the process of updating Cuba's socio -economic development according to the resolutions of the 8th Congress of the Communist Party of Cuba and expressed her belief that the fraternal Cuban people, under the leadership of the Communist Party of Cuba, will continue to strive to overcome difficulties and challenges, protect the achievements of the revolution and the goal of building socialism in Cuba.

Comrade Truong Thi Mai highly appreciated the good traditional friendship between the Vietnam Fatherland Front and the Cuban Committee for the Protection of the Revolution; suggested that the two sides closely coordinate to effectively implement the Cooperation Agreement for the 2023-2028 period, contributing to tightening and deepening the friendship and cooperation between the two organizations and the special friendship between Vietnam and Cuba.

Comrade Hernandez Ernandes Nodello expressed his emotion and thanked Comrade Truong Thi Mai for taking the time to receive the delegation of the Committee for the Defense of the Cuban Revolution, informed Comrade Truong Thi Mai about the current situation in Cuba and the focus of the work of the Committee for the Defense of the Cuban Revolution; affirmed the solidarity, attachment and admiration of the Cuban people for the steadfast example of the Vietnamese people in the past struggle for national liberation and the current development process. Comrade Hernandez Ernandes expressed his deep belief that under the wise leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, headed by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, the Vietnamese people will continue to achieve even greater achievements, making Vietnam increasingly strong and developed.
