For over 18 years, the Provincial Family Planning Association has affirmed its role as an important bridge in population work and reproductive health care for the people, especially those in ethnic minority areas; thereby contributing to bringing population policies closer to the people. Through the synchronized implementation of communication, counseling, and service provision activities, the Association has not only raised awareness but also gradually guided and changed the behavior of target groups towards safe, proactive, and responsible approaches.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu, Head of the Communications Department of the Provincial Family Planning Association, said: "Previously, when people's awareness, especially in ethnic minority areas, was limited, accessing information about reproductive health was difficult, leading to many negative consequences. However, thanks to the promotion of communication work in a flexible manner, tailored to each locality, people's awareness has gradually improved, thereby contributing to changing behavior in a more positive and safer direction."
Most recently, the Provincial Family Planning Association held a mobile outreach program at the Ba Chẽ Commune Health Station. From early morning, a large number of women from the area gathered at the health station to participate. With a friendly and open approach, the communication content was easy to understand and practical, focusing on reproductive health care, prevention of gynecological infections, safe contraception methods, and promoting gender equality within the family.
The highlight of the program was the examination, screening, and treatment of gynecological diseases, including the implementation of transvaginal ultrasound – a highly accurate diagnostic method that helps detect abnormalities in the uterus and ovaries early. Over 120 women received examinations, in-depth consultations, and free medication. Early detection of gynecological diseases not only helps reduce the risk of complications but also contributes to improving the quality of life for rural women – a group with limited access to specialized medical services.
Dr. Nguyen Thi Thang, from the Ba Che Commune Health Station, said: "Through awareness campaigns combined with direct service provision at the facility, people, especially women, have had the opportunity to access health information and services conveniently and promptly. This not only helps raise awareness but also gradually changes habits and behaviors in reproductive health, contributing to disease prevention from an early stage and from afar."

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu, Head of the Communications Department of the Provincial Family Planning Association, also added: Not only focusing on family planning, the Association is also proactively expanding its content and methods of operation towards a comprehensive approach to reproductive health care. This includes emphasizing the integration of communication on gender equality, empowering women, pre-marital counseling, adolescent and youth health care, and strengthening connections with healthcare facilities to provide quality services right in the community.
Over the past period, reproductive health care in the province has been implemented comprehensively and synchronously with many practical solutions tailored to each target group and locality. Communication and counseling activities have been strengthened with innovative content and diverse forms, contributing to raising awareness and gradually changing people's behavior. Along with that, the network of reproductive health care services continues to be consolidated and expanded, with increasingly improved quality, creating favorable conditions for people to access safe and timely services. Thus, reproductive health care not only contributes to protecting people's health but also plays a crucial role in improving the quality of the population, meeting the requirements of development in the new era.
