Right after the match with Germany in the second round of Group G of the 2025 World Cup, when asked by a Kenyan reporter about the goal of the Vietnamese women's volleyball team at the tournament, coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet answered very confidently: "Our goal is to have a victory at this tournament."

In fact, before leaving for Thailand to attend the World Cup, coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet and his team also determined that it would be very difficult to compete for a ticket to the next round when they were in the same group with Poland (ranked 3rd in the world) and Germany (ranked 11th in the world).

As expected, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team could not surprise these two opponents, however, those were two very commendable matches for coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet's team.

In the match against Poland, Vi Thi Nhu Quynh's brilliant performance helped the Vietnamese women's volleyball team win a historic set (1-3), while in the match against Germany, despite losing 0-3, Thanh Thuy made a spectacular comeback as the main scorer. Notably, "4T" became the player who scored the most points in the match (17 points).

With the highest confidence and spirit, Thanh Thuy and her teammates aim for victory against Kenya in the final match of Group G before returning home.

This is a task within the capabilities of the Vietnamese women's volleyball team as Kenya is considered to be of equal strength. In the friendly match before the world tournament, Coach Tuan Kiet and his team had a 4-0 victory over the African representative.

The Vietnam vs Kenya women's volleyball match will take place at 5:00 p.m. on August 27 in Phuket, Thailand.
