Loc Yen ancient village is still intact, in harmony with the natural landscape and the hundred-year-old ancient houses. The ancient houses are preserved by the people, the State joins hands to preserve and promote the value of the relic, thereby serving the development of cultural tourism in the garden here.

The village has 8 ancient houses, aged 150 - 200 years, still intact over time. Living in the 186-year-old house left by their father, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Hoan and his wife Mrs. Nguyen Thi Kim Suong take care of the house every day and welcome visitors.

Mrs. Suong said: “Since Loc Yen was recognized as an ancient village, the number of domestic and foreign tourists coming to the village has increased day by day. My husband and I, as well as other families with ancient houses, try to serve tourists better every day. When groups of visitors come with prior contact, preparations are more thorough. Individual visitors come without prior notice, so sometimes the family is busy with work and cannot open the door for a visit. When visitors come to the village, they have seasonal food, fruits in the garden, cakes such as banh tet, banh u, banh it la gai, banh thuan... are all brought out to serve the visitors.”

People of Loc Yen Ancient Village have gradually become familiar with tourism and joined the Loc Yen Ancient Village Green Tourism Cooperative to connect and welcome visitors.

Mr. Tran Quang Tin, Secretary of Party Cell 4, said: “When doing tourism, at first, both the village people's committee and the people were inexperienced and unfamiliar, but when the cooperative was established, they were guided and supported in how to do tourism, and the tours were connected with travel agencies, and now every day there are groups visiting Loc Yen. People have seen the value brought by tourism, especially the unique values of Loc Yen with ancient houses, mossy stone banks, food, products with the characteristics of the village, fruit gardens... so they take care of the house and garden to be increasingly clean and beautiful to serve tourism".

Promoting the value of relics and scenic spots

Thanh Binh commune has 2 national relics, Huynh Thuc Khang Memorial Site and Loc Yen Ancient Village, along with 6 provincial relics and scenic spots. These are very important conditions and advantages for Thanh Binh to exploit the potential and opportunities for tourism development, creating new products based on local natural resources. The commune has many potentials and favorable conditions to develop an ecological agricultural model combined with experiential tourism based on existing advantages.

Mr. Duong Duc Lin, Chairman of Thanh Binh Commune People's Committee said: "In order for tourism to become an economic strength of Thanh Binh, the commune must synchronously implement many solutions in the coming time. Specifically, the commune and villages will focus on mobilizing people to invest in developing garden economy, farm economy, prioritizing the planting of fruit trees and indigenous medicinal herbs suitable to soil conditions.

In addition, connect agricultural production models with community tourism and eco-tourism activities to create sustainable livelihoods. Build and form tours and tourist routes associated with historical relics and typical scenic spots such as Huynh Thuc Khang Memorial House, Loc Yen Ancient Village, Bat Cave, and Lo Thung. The commune will also seek investors, proactively coordinate and link with businesses and travel agencies to promote the local image and attract tourists to Thanh Binh.

Thanh Binh Commune People's Committee will continue to advise the Party Committee to issue a specialized resolution on developing eco-tourism and rural agricultural tourism associated with preserving and promoting the value of historical and cultural relics in the area.

At the same time, it is recommended that the City People's Committee and relevant departments and branches pay attention to and prioritize investment in the transport infrastructure system connecting key tourist spots of the commune, creating favorable conditions for attracting tourists and developing the local economy.

Support the construction of a pilot model of garden economic development combined with homestay to serve as a basis for people to visit, learn and effectively replicate throughout the commune.

Thereby putting Thanh Binh tourism on the tourism map of Da Nang city, supporting the connection of tours and tourist routes of the city, paying attention to calling for investment connection to develop tourism infrastructure.
