According to the leaders of Van Hien University, after 22 seasons of the "Supporting Students to School" program, Tuoi Tre newspaper has provided opportunities for tens of thousands of new students to continue pursuing their university dreams.
In support of this noble gesture, the school is offering 55 scholarships (including 5 special scholarships of 50 million VND each for 4 academic years) with a total value of 1 billion VND for new students from disadvantaged backgrounds who are admitted and enroll in the school in 2025.
When love is given at the right time.
According to Ms. Tran Thi Phuong Thao, the executive director of Van Hien University, for students from disadvantaged backgrounds, each scholarship is not only a financial support but also a source of encouragement for young people to continue nurturing their dreams and affirming their self-worth.
"We believe that when love is given at the right time, that act of sharing not only motivates new students to confidently move forward in their studies but also instills in young people a spirit of compassion and responsibility."
This is also the educational philosophy that Van Hien University always strives for: "Becoming a good person before achieving fame." We not only want to train successful people, but more importantly, people who live decent lives and are responsible to the community," Ms. Thao shared.
Dr. Le Si Hai, vice-rector of Van Hien University, also believes that "Supporting Students to School" is not simply a scholarship program.
This is vivid proof that when the community joins hands, even seemingly fragile dreams can be continued. And each scholarship awarded is a message of love, an opportunity for young aspirations to reach further.
"Each story emerging from the scholarship program ignites faith in life. Each scholarship is not just financial support, but also a belief in the future. When 'one aspiration' meets 'a multitude of hearts,' the path to higher education opens wider for countless lives yearning for knowledge."
"Despite limited resources, partnering with Tuoi Tre newspaper to support disadvantaged new students is always a top priority for the school, because it is not only an act of sharing but also a part of the educational mission we pursue," Mr. Hai said.
Helping dreams take flight with Youth
According to Mr. Hai, understanding parents' concerns about the cost and long-term educational path of their children, Van Hien University not only focuses on the quality of education but also actively provides financial support to students.
Each year, the school allocates approximately 30 billion VND for scholarships and tuition fee waivers for all students enrolling in the school.
In partnership with parents and to support new students from their very first steps on their intellectual journey, Van Hien University announces a series of humane policies for the 2025-2026 academic year, applicable to all admitted and enrolled students in all training programs of the university.
Upon enrollment, new students will receive a 50% tuition fee reduction for the first semester. The school will also provide an additional 1 million VND to support travel expenses for parents and candidates attending the enrollment process. Furthermore, the school will award three health insurance cards to candidates who achieve a score of 26.5 or higher, covering both students and their parents.
Furthermore, to encourage international integration and provide opportunities for practical multicultural experiences, the school also offers 200 scholarships for experiential learning in one of the Southeast Asian countries of the students' choice, opening up opportunities for exploration , learning, and holistic development.
"All this support is not just a gift, but also a commitment to accompany parents, giving them more confidence and motivating candidates to pursue their university dreams," Mr. Hai emphasized.
Over the past two years, Van Hien University has also collaborated with Tuoi Tre newspaper to sow seeds of hope and support dreams amidst adversity through the "Wings of Dreams" scholarship program.
The program, organized over three years, has a total value of 19.3 billion VND. Each year, 100 scholarships will be awarded to junior and senior high school students (4 million VND per scholarship). Additionally, 120 scholarships will be awarded to students admitted to Van Hien University and Binh Minh Saigon College.
