The Management Board of Major General Hoang The Thien Memorial House has just inaugurated the memorial space for Major General, Hero of the People's Armed Forces Hoang The Thien (1922-1995), former alternate member of the Party Central Committee, former Head of the Party Central Committee B68, former Deputy Minister of National Defense , former First Deputy Minister of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, former Political Commissar of Truong Son Command.

The memorial space for Major General Hoang The Thien located at 2/47 Phan Thuc Duyen, Tan Son Nhat Ward, Ho Chi Minh City, is designed to include a memorial altar, a portrait statue, and memorabilia, documents, and images about the revolutionary life of Major General, Hero of the People's Armed Forces Hoang The Thien.

Major General, People's Armed Forces Hero Hoang The Thien (real name Luu Van Thi, born October 20, 1922 in Hai Phong ) came from a family with a patriotic tradition, joined the revolution at the age of 18, joined the Party at the age of 23 and enlisted in the army in 1947. He was promoted to the rank of Major General in 1974. He died on September 5, 1995 in Ho Chi Minh City, at the age of 73.

With his achievements during his revolutionary career, Major General Hoang The Thien was awarded many noble awards, such as: Ho Chi Minh Medal; First Class Independence Medal; First, Second, Third Class Military Exploit Medal; First Class Military Exploit Medal;

Royal Sahametrei Order, First Class (posthumously awarded by the King of Cambodia); Order of Bravery (posthumously awarded by the Ministry of National Defense of the Lao PDR) and many other domestic and international medals, commemorative medals, and badges.

On January 23, 2025, he was posthumously awarded the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces by the President.

Currently, in Hanoi , Ho Chi Minh City, Hai Phong City, Da Nang City, Can Tho City and several other localities across the country, there are roads and streets named after Major General, Hero of the People's Armed Forces Hoang The Thien.

The inauguration ceremony of the Memorial Space for Major General, Hero of the People's Armed Forces Hoang The Thien was held on the occasion of the fifth anniversary of the Major General's birth.

Mr. Hoang Anh Thi , Permanent Member of the Management Board of Major General Hoang The Thien Memorial House, said that the inauguration ceremony of the Memorial Space of Major General, Hero of the People's Armed Forces Hoang The Thien was held on the occasion of the 103rd anniversary of the Major General's birth (October 20, 1922 - October 20, 2025) .

Previously, on October 20, 2017, the Ho Chi Minh City Truong Son - Ho Chi Minh Trail Tradition Liaison Committee, the 4th Corps Veterans Tradition Liaison Committee and the Southern Air Force Tradition Club Liaison Committee jointly organized the 95th birthday anniversary of Major General Hoang The Thien and inaugurated the Major General Hoang The Thien Memorial House at 2/47 Phan Thuc Duyen.

Here, more than 200 documents, images and artifacts about the Major General's more than 55 years of revolutionary activities are displayed and introduced to the public - expressing deep gratitude to the loyal soldier of the Vietnam People's Army.

Since then, Major General Hoang The Thien Memorial House has become a cultural address of Ho Chi Minh City, a meeting place for veterans, researchers, collectors, students and a large number of people.

Not only is it a space for remembrance and gratitude, it also contributes to educating revolutionary traditions, arousing patriotism and national pride, especially for today's young generation.

On the occasion of the 103rd anniversary of the birth (October 20, 1922 - October 20, 2025) and the 30th anniversary of the death (September 5, 1995 - September 5, 2025) of Major General, Hero of the People's Armed Forces Hoang The Thien, the Memorial House Management Board renovated and embellished the Memorial Space according to the design of architect Ngo Truong Duy and solemnly held the inauguration ceremony.

Mr. Hoang Anh Thi added that in the coming time, the Management Board will continue to collect and supplement documents and artifacts about Major General Hoang The Thien, in order to enrich the display content and better serve the public's needs for sightseeing and research.

The Management Board also affirmed its determination to preserve and promote the value of the Memorial House, considering it a place to educate traditions and foster revolutionary ethics for the next generations - continuing the pride and spirit of dedication to the Fatherland that Major General Hoang The Thien left behind.
