Two more universities change the way they calculate IELTS and SAT scores

According to the announcement of the Admissions Council of Hanoi University of Civil Engineering, the 2025 enrollment plan also changes the way SAT scores are considered compared to the enrollment information announcement in February.

Accordingly, the school will no longer directly admit candidates with SAT scores of 1,200 or more, but will consider admission together with other methods.

With IELTS, the school accepts converting this certificate into high school graduation exam scores in English for candidates with IELTS 5.5 or higher.

Similarly, Hanoi University of Architecture also stopped directly admitting candidates with IELTS from 6.5 for the advanced program in Architecture. Instead, candidates with IELTS from 6.0 or higher will receive priority points of 0.6-1.2 points.

Previously, in the announcement on the morning of May 5, Hanoi University of Culture adjusted the enrollment information in the direction of removing the 3-point bonus for candidates with IELTS from 4.0.

With the new regulation, IELTS 4.0-4.5 will only be awarded 1 point by the school. Candidates with IELTS 6.5 or higher will be awarded 3 points.

Up to now, about 50 universities use IELTS certificates in admission to regular programs in 2025.
