Keeping pace with digitalization
Leveraging their youthful energy and proactive spirit, the Hue City Youth Union has implemented many outstanding activities, including the development of the "Youth Union" digital platform on the Hue-S application. This platform not only effectively connects volunteer activities but also supports over 2,500 Youth Union members in guiding citizens through administrative procedures via the VNeID application. Notably, Youth Union officials have actively participated and served as core members in community digital technology teams in many localities. In grassroots Youth Union units in Quang Dien and Phu Vang districts, officials have directly visited households, persistently assisting people in completing online administrative procedures, helping to bridge the digital divide in the community and contributing to an increased rate of online public service usage among the people.
Nguyen Thanh Hoai, Secretary of the Hue City Youth Union, shared: “We want the Youth Union to become a bridge to help young people quickly access technology, be proactive and creative in the city's digital transformation journey.”
Recently, the Hue City Youth Union launched the "Digital Literacy Movement," implementing it in key areas such as remote regions, ethnic minority areas, industrial zones, and places with limited technological infrastructure. This movement aims to concretize Resolution 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo and Resolution 03/NQ-CP of the Government on the development of science, technology, innovation, and national digital transformation. Through the formation of volunteer teams and the organization of digital skills training classes, the movement contributes to popularizing technological capabilities among the people, creating a solid foundation for Hue to integrate into the modern development trend.
Not lagging behind the digital transformation trend, the Hue City Farmers' Association has taken strong steps by helping more than 2,700 farming households access and effectively utilize e-commerce platforms, thereby expanding markets and improving business efficiency.
Mr. Hoang Minh Sang, a farmer from Vinh Hung commune, Phu Loc district, said: “Previously, I only sold goods at traditional markets. Thanks to the guidance from the Farmers' Association on bringing products to e-commerce platforms, my revenue has doubled, and my market has expanded significantly.”
According to Mr. Tran Van Lap, Vice Chairman of the Hue City Farmers' Association, digital transformation has contributed to building modern and sustainable agricultural models. The Association has mobilized more than 48,000 members to participate in emulation movements for excellent production and business, established 10 professional branches, 38 professional groups, supported the establishment of 4 cooperatives, and organized 9 production linkage models along the value chain and organic production. Digital training courses in agricultural production are also regularly organized, attracting the active participation of a large number of members.
Improve management efficiency
The Hue City Trade Union has quickly applied information technology to its management and operational activities, contributing to improving the effectiveness of emulation movements and key tasks of the organization.
Ms. Tran Thi Minh Nguyet, Permanent Vice President of the Hue City Federation of Labor, said: “The city's labor union has focused on extensively disseminating information about the necessity of digital transformation linked to administrative reform and the application of digital technology, especially in financial management and membership management.”
The increased use of social media and digital platforms such as the Hue Trade Union fanpage, Zalo, and Facebook in communication has helped information reach union members and workers quickly. To date, more than 76,000 union members have had their data updated in the management software of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, achieving a rate of 96%.
The Hue City Women's Union has quickly embraced the digitalization trend by organizing training courses and supporting members in utilizing digital platforms for business and entrepreneurship, thereby creating jobs and increasing income for women.
Mr. Doan Trong Minh, Deputy Head of the Emulation and Commendation Board of Hue City, highly appreciated the proactive and creative spirit of the members of the Front and Mass Organizations Emulation Bloc in boldly applying digital technology, helping emulation movements become increasingly relevant to real life and effective. “Organizations need to continue to promote the application of digital technology more extensively and synchronously, focusing on building model projects and creating a ripple effect in the community. In particular, attention should be paid to training and improving digital skills for officials and members to maximize their pioneering role in the digital transformation of Hue City,” Mr. Minh emphasized.
