Over the past 5 years, the patriotic emulation movement has spread widely, becoming a great spiritual driving force, fostering will, arousing aspirations to rise up, encouraging the entire Party Committee, government and people of all ethnic groups in Lai Chau to unite, innovate, be creative, overcome difficulties, successfully carry out the tasks of socio -economic development, and maintain national defense and security.
In the 2020-2025 period, Lai Chau established 783 new enterprises, bringing the total to 2,170; established 208 cooperatives, bringing the total to 446; attracted 86 projects with a total registered capital of more than 25 trillion VND. GRDP increased by an average of 5.4%/year; GRDP per capita reached 65 million VND, an increase of 21.3 million VND compared to 2020.
The new rural construction movement has received strong support from the people, with people donating over 255,000 square meters of land, contributing 31,000 working days and nearly 5 billion VND. By the end of 2024, the whole province will have 39 standard communes (41.5%); 100% of villages and hamlets have convenient traffic routes; 280 OCOP products have achieved 3 to 4 stars, an increase of 233 products compared to 2020.
The movement “For the poor – No one left behind” supported the construction and repair of 1,180 houses worth more than 20 billion VND; awarded 19,226 gifts; nearly 5,000 scholarships; and provided loans for production to more than 15,200 households with a total amount of over 1,000 billion VND.
When the Covid-19 pandemic hit, Lai Chau did not stand aside. The province promptly launched a special emulation movement "Lai Chau unites, joins hands, and competes to prevent, fight and defeat the Covid-19 pandemic".
The special emulation movement mobilized about 250,000 working days, nearly 600 billion VND, and eliminated 7,161 temporary houses in less than a year - a testament to the strength of national solidarity.
The emulation movement in office culture, studying and following Uncle Ho, building "Skilled Mass Mobilization", streamlining the apparatus... have all achieved many positive results. The whole province has built 9,000 "Skilled Mass Mobilization" models, reduced 892 organizations and agencies, nearly 1,500 staff, and reduced 68 commune-level administrative units. Over the past 5 years, 2,675 outstanding collectives and individuals have been honored for studying and following Uncle Ho.
In the 2025-2030 period, Lai Chau strives for GRDP to increase by an average of 10% per year; GRDP per capita to reach 90 million VND; budget revenue to reach over 4,500 billion VND; agricultural value to increase by 5% per year; tourism revenue to reach over 2,700 billion VND by 2030; digital economy to account for 9-10% of GRDP.
The Congress exchanged with advanced models, commended many outstanding collectives and individuals: 1 individual received the First Class Labor Medal; 1 collective and 2 individuals received the Second Class Labor Medal; 31 individuals received the Third Class Labor Medal; 71 collectives, 58 households, and 132 individuals received Certificates of Merit from the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.
The Congress approved the list of 12 delegates to attend the 11th National Patriotic Emulation Congress, launched the patriotic emulation movement for the 2025-2030 period, and affirmed the determination to build Lai Chau to develop greenly, quickly, and sustainably.
