Efforts to connect jobs for workers

At the City Public Service Center, there are 36 participating enterprises, with over 6,400 job positions to be recruited. The online job fair attracts students from universities and colleges to update information on recruitment needs, seize opportunities to meet businesses, attend preliminary interviews, test their abilities, and cultivate confidence in communication and behavior. Huynh Nhu Y, a fourth-year student at Can Tho University of Technology, said: "The school widely informs students of all faculties about the job fair. I am about to graduate, so I proactively participate in consulting and recruitment events to practice boldness, confidence, and choose jobs at home and abroad."

The City's Employment Service Center organizes quarterly online job fairs to maintain coordination between employment service centers and promptly meet human resource needs for business development. In addition, the Center accompanies businesses in recruiting workers through direct and online methods via channels: Zalo, the Center's Facebook, email, TikTok and indirectly via phone. The Center strives to maintain activities: regular employer meetings every other Monday, job coffee sessions every Saturday... with a variety of recruitment positions according to business needs and workers are interviewed directly. The Center coordinates with universities and colleges to organize events, enhance career counseling and job-seeking skills for students.

According to the Department of Home Affairs of Can Tho City, from the beginning of 2025 until now, the city has created jobs for more than 90,680 workers; of which, more than 1,740 workers went to work abroad, reaching nearly 96% of the plan. The Department of Home Affairs of the city directed the City's Employment Service Center to strongly apply information technology, digital transformation, regularly connect and update recruitment needs of businesses, and job search needs of workers to increase the effectiveness of consulting and job connection.

Bui My Thu in Ninh Kieu ward, an employee of a company specializing in product testing and evaluation, shared: “I graduated from university with a major in Food Technology, and I applied for a job in several places but did not meet the requirements because my CV was not convincing. I registered to look for a job through the channels of the City Employment Service Center, took the opportunity to attend job events, and was instructed on how to write a CV. Thanks to that, I got a stable job that suited my expertise.”

Through a survey of the labor market, job opportunities are distributed equally among workers who are willing to accept jobs, changing their perspective on the value of jobs, especially the positive attitude towards approaching employers, being willing to accept jobs and being open-minded in work. Attitude and skills are the core factors for candidates to "shine" and "outperform"...

In the coming time, to make the job creation work truly effective and sustainable, the City Employment Service Center will continue to maintain and improve the quality of job transaction events; coordinate the organization of job counseling activities, equipping skills for students. At the same time, regularly inform about vacant job positions through the Center's channels; enhance the role of the job collaborators of wards and communes, activities to accompany, support and manage workers who need to find jobs...
