Candidates complain that the Literature exam is long and difficult.

In this exam session, 20,561 out of 21,489 registered candidates took the exam, with 928 absent.

The Literature exam included an excerpt from the work "The Rooftop Birds" by author Minh Nhật. This excerpt was more than 1.5 pages long (over 1.5 A4 pages) with 6 questions in the reading comprehension and argumentative essay sections, all focusing on this excerpt. The reading comprehension section accounted for 6 points and the argumentative essay section for 4 points.

After completing the exam in 120 minutes, many candidates lacked the confidence they had in the first two subjects, Math and English, because the exam was quite difficult.

Candidate Nguyen Thi Men, taking the exam at Tran Hung Dao Junior High School (Bien Hoa City), shared that she was surprised that the exam focused only on a single excerpt from the short story "The Birds on the Rooftop," and therefore did not perform as well as in the previous two exams. To do well on this exam, candidates need to have a thorough understanding of the work, while she focused on many other works.

Candidate Pham Duc Manh, however, felt that the exam had too much material and too many questions, yet focused on only one work, making it difficult for him to score high marks. He suggested that if the reading comprehension section had focused on a poem, and the essay writing section on a short story, or a social commentary question on current events, it would have been better for candidates to showcase their abilities and earn more points.

Thus, the entrance exam for 10th grade in the 2025-2026 school year has concluded for most candidates. This afternoon, May 30th, 2,363 candidates registered to take the exam for Luong The Vinh Specialized High School will take an additional specialized subject exam, with a time limit of 150 minutes.

Immediately after this morning's exam, the examination boards will collect the candidates' exam papers and bring them to the centralized grading center arranged by the Department of Education and Training in Bien Hoa City. The grading process will be implemented by the Department immediately after the exam concludes.
