The entrance exam for 10th grade in non-specialized public high schools in Hanoi for the 2026-2027 school year took place on May 30th and 31st, with nearly 125,000 candidates registered. One of the issues of great concern to many students and parents was the regulations regarding items allowed in the examination room.
According to the examination regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training , to facilitate the examination process, candidates are allowed to bring the following items into the examination room: pens; rulers; pencils; erasers; set squares; graph rulers; drawing tools; and handheld calculators without text editing functions and without memory cards.
Prohibited items in the examination room or waiting area include: carbon paper, correction fluid, alcoholic beverages; weapons, explosives, flammable materials; documents; communication devices, transmitting and receiving devices, audio and video recording devices, or devices containing information used for cheating during the examination.
At the exam supervision guidance conference held on May 26th, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training reminded candidates to carefully check their belongings before entering the examination room and to absolutely not bring mobile phones, smartwatches, or electronic devices into the examination area to avoid violating regulations.
During the registration process, candidates must be present at the scheduled time; present their citizen identification card or passport along with their examination notification slip.
If candidates discover any errors regarding their full name, date of birth, priority group, or priority area, they must immediately report it to the invigilator or staff member at the examination site for timely correction. In case of loss of identification documents or examination notification slips, candidates must immediately report it to the head of the examination site for consideration and resolution.
In the examination room, candidates must sit in the seat indicated by their registration number and present their identification when requested.
