On the morning of June 2nd, over 76,000 candidates in Ho Chi Minh City were present at examination centers to take the Mathematics exam - the final subject of the 2026-2027 public high school entrance exam.
At the exam center at Le Hong Phong Specialized High School (Cho Quan ward), many students arrived early to review formulas and quickly exchange ideas with friends before entering the exam room.
According to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training, the Math exam consists of 7 questions to be completed in 120 minutes, focusing on knowledge areas such as numbers and algebra, geometry and measurement, statistics and probability.
The exam aims to assess thinking skills, mathematical reasoning, problem-solving abilities, and the application of knowledge to practical situations.
Arriving early at the exam site, Le Hoang Minh Khang, a student from Nguyen Van To Secondary School (Dien Hong Ward), said that he had prepared quite thoroughly for the final exam.
"I took the opportunity to review some formulas before the exam. Math is a subject I'm quite confident in, so I feel more relaxed today than in previous days. I registered Nguyen Thi Minh Khai High School as my first choice and Nguyen Du High School as my second choice," Minh Khang shared.

Sharing the same sentiment, Luu Gia Nghi, a student at Nguyen Van Luong Secondary School (Binh Phu Ward), said she had finished her revision the night before to maintain a stable mindset before the exam.
"I hope the exam will be as manageable as the ones I've practiced. My first choice is Mac Dinh Chi High School, and my second choice is Nguyen Tat Thanh High School, so I will try to stay calm and do my best," Gia Nghi said.
Meanwhile, Ngo Khanh Thy, a student from Huynh Van Nghe Secondary School (Binh Tan District), was not only preparing for the Math exam but also aiming for the specialized subject exam that afternoon.
"I registered to take the entrance exam for the specialized Chemistry class at Tran Dai Nghia High School for the Gifted. For the regular program, I chose Tay Thanh High School and Binh Hung Hoa High School. Currently, I'm a little nervous but still quite confident because I've studied thoroughly," Khanh Thy shared.

Outside the school gate, many students currently studying at Le Hong Phong Specialized High School were also present to cheer on the candidates.
Tran Ngoc Minh Anh, a 10th-grade student specializing in French at the school, said that she herself had gone through the 10th-grade entrance exam and therefore understood the pressure that students are currently facing.
"I was also very stressed when I took the exam before. Yesterday, after finishing the Literature and Foreign Language exams, many students were quite excited and happy because the exam questions were relatively easy. I hope that today the candidates will enter the exam room with a relaxed mindset to do well in the Math exam," Minh Anh said.
After the Mathematics exam, candidates applying for specialized or integrated classes will continue to take the specialized or integrated subject exam in the afternoon of the same day.

To serve this year's 10th grade entrance exam, Ho Chi Minh City has arranged 242 examination centers, including 226 regular centers and 16 specialized centers, with a total of 6,443 examination rooms.
Over 17,700 teachers and staff were mobilized to participate in invigilation, supervision, and support for the exam, with a total enrollment quota of over 118,000 students for public high schools in Ho Chi Minh City.
