Volatility can be considered a... test for investors. Volatility does not mean inaction because this is an opportunity to adjust strategies and strengthen internal strength for long-term investment.

Portfolio Structure: Reduce Risk and Increase Efficiency

During volatile times, the first priority is to restructure the portfolio. Investors should retain stocks with good fundamentals, leading the industry, and stable growth, and eliminate weak stocks with poor prospects. When disbursing, be cautious, avoid chasing or selling off.

Instead of looking for short-term profits, you should add low-risk products to increase safety and liquidity. Another effective solution is to replace investing in odd-lot stocks by referring to thematic portfolios that have been built by securities companies based on market research, such as PineFolio.

This is an investment approach that is categorized into sectors according to certain economic , business, social or technological themes, rather than focusing on specific companies. This suggestion helps investors refer to a portfolio with long-term growth potential, while allocating assets reasonably with appropriate investment capital.

In addition, bonds are an effective investment option, ensuring both safety and increasing yields. A typical example is PineB - a corporate bond investment channel built by Pinetree, aiming to bring attractive yields and high safety to investors.

In particular, customers can receive some attractive incentives with PineB on the last two days of the month and the first day of the month, creating a significant advantage. Investors can flexibly choose a variety of terms from 14 to 180 days and investment levels from only one million VND.

In addition, investors can refer to bond investment solutions of some other securities companies such as DBOND of VNDirect, iBond ProX of Techcom Securities, eBond of VPBank Securities...

Optimizing incentives: Increasing long-term investment value

When making a transaction, investors will need to set aside a portion of their capital to pay fees, including transaction fees collected by the Stock Exchange and service fees set by the securities company, ranging from 0.1% to 0.35% for each matched buy or sell order. For sell orders, investors will be subject to an additional 0.1% personal income tax, which will be deducted at source and paid by the securities company in accordance with regulations.

For example, an investor buys 1,000 FPT shares at VND106,000, the total transaction value is VND106 million. Assuming the transaction fee is 0.25% (the Department charges 0.03%, the securities company charges 0.22%), the investor needs to pay an additional VND265,000 in transaction fees. When FPT increases to VND110,000, the investor wants to sell and will have to pay a 0.25% selling fee, equivalent to VND275,000, and an additional 0.1% personal income tax (PIT) fee of VND110,000. The total purchase and sale fee that the investor needs to pay is up to VND650,000, accounting for 16.25% of the transaction profit.

If investors know how to optimize preferential policies from securities companies, they can save a significant amount of money.

Over time, the accumulated fees will increase. Therefore, investors should make the most of the fee incentives offered by securities companies to reduce the cost of each transaction by 0.07% to 0.32% (excluding the 0.03% fee paid to the Department and personal income tax).

This incentive can be implemented by companies on a one-time basis or for life. For example, Pinetree, a pioneer in comprehensive digital securities in Vietnam, has applied free lifetime transactions for investors since its inception in 2019, with no restrictions on transaction frequency or value.

In addition, investors can consider using reasonable margin incentives to improve investment efficiency. Margin loan packages with competitive interest rates such as P-Zero 0% (no margin interest for the first 30 days for new margin customers), P-5.9%/year (margin interest of 5.9% for the first 90 days) and P-6.8%/year (margin interest of 6.8% for 30 days, limit of 5 billion VND/day) at this time are also a plus for investors.

Insight Update: The Foundation for Rational Investing

Following in-depth stock news and reports helps investors understand the market as well as identify market trends to have more basis for effective investment planning.

Based on this need, many securities companies have launched a variety of news bulletins and analysis reports. Pinetree even provides up to 24 news bulletins and securities reports per week.

The content of these newsletters and newspapers is diverse, covering a wide range of topics, from basic knowledge, personal finance, market news to technical analysis and in-depth investment strategies. The formats are diverse, from PDFs, motion graphics, video hosts to podcasts.

These data are analyzed visually, concisely and interpreted in easy-to-understand language with vivid images, helping investors easily access knowledge and update information.

Pinetree offers up to 24 stock newsletters and reports each week.

It can be seen that, in the context of a volatile market, investors still have the opportunity to "turn danger into opportunity" if they know how to maintain a stable mentality and act based on objective data information.

Restructuring the portfolio, prioritizing low-risk products, taking advantage of preferential policies, using appropriate financial instruments and constantly updating knowledge will help investors not only minimize risks but also increase sustainable efficiency in the future.
