Spreading from the grassroots level
Raising the national flag and singing the national anthem is a sacred ritual, expressing the deep love for the homeland and national pride of every cadre, Party member, civil servant, employee, soldier of the armed forces, and citizen. Beyond its ceremonial significance, the flag-raising ceremony is also a moment of reflection, helping each person to examine themselves, reminding them of their responsibilities to their work, community, and country.
Recently, the weekly flag-raising ceremony, or the ceremony on the first Monday of each month, has been regularly maintained by many agencies and units in the province. Depending on the actual conditions, units flexibly organize the ceremony outdoors or in a hall, but still ensure solemnity and significance.
Recently, the Giồng Riềng Commune Police have maintained the practice of holding a flag-raising ceremony and singing the national anthem on the first Monday morning of each month. According to Lieutenant Colonel Nguyễn Tấn Đậu, Deputy Head of the Giồng Riềng Commune Police, the flag-raising ceremony aims to educate and enhance patriotism, revolutionary ideals, and national pride among officers and soldiers; it also fosters a sense of discipline, adherence to schedules, and readiness to serve the people in carrying out their duties.
Sharing his feelings about attending the flag-raising ceremony, Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Tan Dau said: “Each flag-raising ceremony is a sacred moment, filled with emotion. It is in that moment that I feel I need to live more responsibly and do more meaningful things.”
To ensure the effectiveness of the flag-raising ceremony, the Giồng Riềng Commune Police focused on assigning specific tasks to each officer and soldier; meticulously preparing everything from decorations and sound to the content of the activities under the flag. In particular, the timely selection and recognition of outstanding individuals and groups in performing their duties was considered a highlight, creating motivation and a positive spirit of competition throughout the unit. Through each flag-raising ceremony, the unit's leadership also assessed the results of assigned tasks, thereby clearly defining the focus of work for the coming period.

The beauty of the business environment
Not only taking place in schools and government agencies, the weekly flag-raising ceremony in businesses is increasingly being maintained with seriousness, becoming an important political activity that continues to awaken national pride and civic responsibility in each individual.
For nearly 10 years, the KienlongBank Rach Gia branch has regularly maintained the weekly flag-raising ceremony, making it a beautiful tradition with profound educational significance for its staff and employees.
Ms. Le Thuy Thuy Tien, Director of KienlongBank Rach Gia, shared: “Stemming from a tradition of patriotism and a desire to promote unity, we regularly maintain the weekly flag-raising ceremony and collective activities under the flag. This is not only a solemn ritual but also a sacred moment for each officer and employee to demonstrate a sense of responsibility, collective commitment, continuous moral cultivation, and striving for the unit and the nation.”
Located near a crossroads, a park, and a school, the sight of KienlongBank Rach Gia's staff and employees, dressed in neat white shirts and traditional ao dai, lining up for the flag-raising ceremony every Monday morning has become familiar to many residents of Rach Gia City. According to Ms. Tien, the flag-raising ceremony, lasting only about 10 minutes and flexibly adapted to weather conditions, holds immense spiritual value. For the unit as a whole, it's not just a ritual but also a beautiful cultural tradition that needs to be preserved and promoted. "When the national anthem plays, everyone turns towards the Party flag and the national flag, singing with all their heart. It has become a good habit, very emotional and meaningful," Ms. Tien said.
The weekly and monthly flag-raising ceremony, though simple, yields tremendous results in terms of awareness, ideology, and action. Through this, it contributes to strongly spreading patriotism, national pride, and a sense of responsibility among cadres, Party members, and all segments of the population in building and protecting the homeland.
