Whether atop towering mountains or amidst the vast, verdant forests, the flag proudly flutters, a testament to our sacred and inviolable sovereignty . Against the boundless sky, the red flag with a yellow star soars like an eternal flame, burning away all hardships and challenges. Every stitch on the flag embodies the unwavering and indomitable will of our ancestors throughout the ages, preserving every inch of our sacred homeland. This image ignites in us boundless national pride. Looking at this proud flag on the border, every Vietnamese citizen is filled with determination, wholeheartedly committed to preserving and building a Vietnam that is ever more prosperous, beautiful, and powerful. Perhaps it is precisely because of these sacred things that, during every trip along the border, the image that always moves everyone is the red flag with a yellow star fluttering on the rooftops of the ethnic minority communities. How sacred it is when the national flag is always present along the border or in the deep forests and mountains. Author Le Tan Thanh has compiled and released the photo series "The Sacredness of the National Flag on the Border Region." Vietnam.vn is pleased to introduce this photo series to you, which the author submitted to the "Happy Vietnam" photo and video contest, organized by the Ministry of Information and Communications .
On September 2nd, 78 years ago, at Ba Dinh Square, the red flag with a yellow star flew high above the platform, marking a significant historical milestone for the nation, officially making Vietnam an independent and free country. The vibrant red national flag with its glittering yellow star is not only a symbol of patriotism and pride, but also inspires each individual to strive harder to build a more prosperous and beautiful country. This image is even more meaningful, valuable, and a source of pride in the islands and border regions of the Fatherland. With its unique location at the border junction, for many years, officers, soldiers, and people in the area have always valued the image of the flag as a way of affirming national sovereignty. Every time Tet (Lunar New Year) approaches, or on major holidays, especially National Day on September 2nd, at border guard units in the border region, soldiers simultaneously hoist flags and hold flag-raising ceremonies. Historical records show that the red flag with a five-pointed yellow star first appeared during the Southern Uprising in the early 1940s. Throughout the history of resistance, national construction, and defense, the red flag with a yellow star continues to lead and inspire confidence as the country enters a period of renewal, striving for prosperity and happiness for all its people. The national flag proudly flying over the border not only affirms national sovereignty but also inspires patriotism and the spirit of national unity, working together to build a more prosperous and beautiful country, as envisioned by President Ho Chi Minh.
