According to a report by the Quang Ninh Center for Disease Control (CDC), in 2026, the entire province continued to maintain effective school health services with many positive results. Currently, 100% of schools in the province have established student health care committees, organized regular health check-ups, and created health records for students as required.
School health facilities are being gradually improved. To date, 97.8% of schools have their own health rooms; 100% of schools ensure access to drinking water, domestic water, hygienic toilets, and sufficient soap and disinfectants. This is an important condition that helps schools proactively prevent and control diseases and provide primary healthcare for students.
In addition to focusing on infrastructure, the Health and Education sectors have collaborated to organize dozens of professional training courses on disease prevention, food safety, mental health care, immunization, and first aid skills for school health staff. Health education and communication activities have also been implemented in diverse ways through extracurricular activities, loudspeakers, social media, and direct consultations.
The propaganda content focuses on issues relevant to students' age group, such as disease prevention, oral care, accident and injury prevention, physical fitness improvement, and adolescent reproductive health. This contributes to raising awareness and developing self-care skills for students from an early age.

In response to the National Health Day on April 7, 2026, many localities in the province organized health check-ups, consultations, and health communication activities in schools and communities. In Bai Chay ward, the ward's health station coordinated the organization of periodic health check-ups for approximately 1,800 students at Bai Chay Primary and Secondary School.
The health check-up not only assesses physical condition but also focuses on early detection of common school-related problems such as refractive errors, dental diseases, and scoliosis. Simultaneously, students receive advice on health care skills, nutrition, and appropriate physical training.
A representative from the Bai Chay Ward Health Station stated: "School health care is a fundamental solution. Regular health check-ups not only help detect diseases early but also contribute to fostering a proactive health awareness among students from a young age."
Along with school health check-ups, in 2026, Quang Ninh will continue to simultaneously implement a deworming campaign for primary school students throughout the province. This is a practical activity aimed at protecting and improving the health of school-aged children, with the goal of having over 85% of students receive deworming medication.
The campaign will be held in all primary schools in the province, with the main deworming day on April 21, 2026, and the follow-up deworming day on April 22, 2026. Participants will include all students aged 6 to 11 during the 2026-2027 school year, except for cases with medical contraindications.

According to the health sector, regular deworming is important in reducing the rate of intestinal worm infections, improving nutrition, increasing micronutrient absorption, and supporting the overall development of children.
The medication used in the campaign is Vermox (Mebendazole 500mg), provided by the World Health Organization through an international cooperation program. All medication is distributed free of charge to local areas, ensuring that eligible students have access to it. Local health facilities also have emergency response teams on duty 24/7 during the campaign to be ready to handle any unforeseen situations.
With the attention of all levels and sectors, along with close coordination between schools, healthcare facilities, and parents, school health care in Quang Ninh is gradually becoming more comprehensive, contributing to reducing the burden of disease and aiming to build a healthy generation of young people who are well-rounded in both physical and mental development.
