According to MobiFone's official website, under Decision No. 6688/QD-BCA, the Minister of Public Security decided to transfer Mr. Truong Son Lam, Director of Ben Tre Provincial Police, to take up the position of Chairman of the Board of Members of MobiFone Telecommunications Corporation from June 12.
Previously, according to Decision No. 4707/QD-BCA, the Minister of Public Security decided to agree to let Mr. Nguyen Hong Hien, Chairman of the Board of Members of MobiFone Telecommunications Corporation, transfer his job from June 12. Mr. Nguyen Hong Hien was appointed to the position of Director of the Department of Science, Technology, Innovation and Digital Transformation of the Central Policy and Strategy Committee.
According to MobiFone's internal news site MobiBeat, Major General Truong Son Lam had a meeting with key leaders of the Corporation and its affiliated units, officially taking up his duties at MobiFone on June 12.
At this working session, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of MobiFone emphasized that MobiFone's official transfer to the Ministry of Public Security and becoming a security and defense enterprise is not only an important milestone but also opens up great opportunities, posing an urgent need for change.
"MobiFone needs to change drastically, from thinking to working methods, to gradually shape the role and responsibility of a security - defense enterprise in the true sense, operating effectively, professionally, systematically and in the right direction," said Major General Truong Son Lam.
Major General Truong Son Lam was born in 1972, from Hoang Hoa district, Thanh Hoa province. He is an Information Technology Engineer from Hanoi University of Science and Technology, a PhD from the People's Security Academy, and has a high level of political theory.
Before taking on the role of Chairman of the Board of Members of MobiFone Telecommunications Corporation, Major General Truong Son Lam held the position of Director of Ben Tre Provincial Police. Before that, he also had many years of experience working in the field of cyber security and high-tech crime prevention, and held the position of Deputy Director of the Department of Cyber Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention, Ministry of Public Security.
