Weather on June 23: Many areas have thunderstorms in the evening

The Hydrometeorological Agency forecasts that on the day and night of June 23, in the mountainous and midland areas of the North, there will be rain, moderate rain and scattered thunderstorms, locally heavy to very heavy rain with common rainfall from 20-40mm, locally over 100mm (rain concentrated in the late afternoon and night).

The Central Highlands and the South have scattered showers and thunderstorms, locally with rainfall of 10-30mm, locally over 60mm (rain concentrated in the late afternoon and evening).

Thunderstorms may produce tornadoes, lightning, hail, and strong gusts of wind. Localized heavy rain may cause flash floods in small rivers and streams, landslides on steep slopes, and inundation in low-lying areas.

Regarding the weather at sea, currently (June 23), in the eastern sea area of the North and Central East Sea, the southern East Sea area (including the sea area of Truong Sa archipelago), the sea area from Binh Thuan to Ca Mau, Ca Mau to Kien Giang and the Gulf of Thailand there are showers and thunderstorms.

Forecast for the day and night of June 23, the eastern sea area of the North East Sea, the Central and Southern East Sea area (including the sea area of Truong Sa archipelago), the sea area from Binh Thuan to Ca Mau, Ca Mau to Kien Giang and the Gulf of Thailand will have showers and thunderstorms.

During thunderstorms there is a possibility of tornadoes, strong gusts of wind level 6-7 and waves over 2.0m high.

In addition, on the day and night of June 23, in the sea area from Binh Thuan to Ca Mau, there will be strong southwest winds of level 5, sometimes level 6, gusting to level 7; rough seas.

All vessels operating in the above areas are at risk of being affected by tornadoes and strong gusts of wind.
