The Traffic Police Department has just released information regarding vehicle registration and license plate issuance following the provincial merger.

According to the Traffic Police Department, in implementing the National Assembly 's Resolution on the reorganization of provincial-level administrative units in 2025, vehicle registration and license plate issuance will be carried out in a way that retains the current license plate numbers of local areas.

For merged localities, the license plates are the license plates of the localities before the merger.

Vehicle registration certificates and license plates issued before July 1, 2025, will continue to be valid.

Organizations and individuals may choose to register their vehicles at the commune-level police station within the province or city where the vehicle owner resides or has their headquarters.
