Dong Dang Expressway Opened

The People's Committees of Cao Bang and Lang Son provinces have now handed over more than 99% of the land to the construction contractor, striving to open the Dong Dang - Tra Linh expressway within 2025.

This morning (January 10th), in Cao Bang City, the People's Committee of Cao Bang province held a press conference on the results of socio -economic development in Cao Bang province in 2024; and the direction and tasks for 2025.

According to information presented at the conference, the leaders of the Cao Bang Provincial People's Committee stated that, to date, the two provinces of Cao Bang and Lang Son have handed over 93.14 km/93.35 km to the contractor for the construction of the Dong Dang - Tra Linh expressway.

Specifically, in Cao Bang province, 41.26 km out of 41.35 km have been handed over, equivalent to 99.78% of the route length, corresponding to an area of ​​approximately 221.87 ha out of 260.76 ha; in Lang Son province, 51.88 km out of 52 km have been handed over, equivalent to 99.77% of the route length, corresponding to an area of ​​approximately 372.58 ha out of 372.97 ha.

With the spirit of "3 shifts, 4 teams," "overcoming the sun, conquering the rain, not losing to storms and strong winds," "eating quickly and sleeping urgently," "working day and night is not enough," "only discussing work, not retreating"... to accelerate the project's progress, contractors are currently mobilizing more than 1,000 personnel and over 350 pieces of machinery and equipment to deploy 27 construction fronts with many items (such as bridges, tunnels, and culverts).

By December 7, 2024, two tunnel tubes of tunnel number 2 (Dong Khe tunnel) on the expressway had been completed, exceeding the planned schedule by 3 months. As of December 31, 2024, the project had disbursed over VND 1,191 billion, reaching 61.6% of the 2024 capital plan; including over VND 337 billion of state capital for construction and infrastructure development.

The two tunnel tubes of tunnel number 2 (Dong Khe tunnel) on the Dong Dang - Tra Linh expressway have been completed, 3 months ahead of schedule.

In the coming period, the People's Committee of Cao Bang province will continue to direct relevant agencies and units to accelerate land clearance work, continue to mobilize maximum manpower and machinery for construction, and be determined to complete and put the Dong Dang - Tra Linh expressway into operation soon, contributing to promoting socio-economic development in the area.

Further information presented at the conference by the leaders of the Cao Bang Provincial Project Management Board for Investment and Construction of Transportation Projects indicated that the remaining 1% of the land is primarily residential land, making it impossible to complete the resettlement of residents and address some arising issues during the project implementation. The Project Management Board will actively coordinate with local authorities to expedite the resettlement process by February 2025, striving to open the project to traffic in 2025 and bring it into operation by 2026, in accordance with the Prime Minister's directives.
