Dong Dang Expressway Opens

The People's Committees of Cao Bang and Lang Son provinces have handed over more than 99% of the construction site to the contractor, striving to open the Dong Dang - Tra Linh expressway in 2025.

This morning (January 10), in Cao Bang city, the People's Committee of Cao Bang province held a press conference on the results of socio -economic development of Cao Bang province in 2024; directions and tasks for 2025.

At the conference, the leader of Cao Bang Provincial People's Committee informed: Up to now, Cao Bang and Lang Son provinces have handed over 93.14 km/93.35 km to the contractor to implement the construction of Dong Dang - Tra Linh expressway.

Of which, Cao Bang province has handed over 41.26 km/41.35 km, equivalent to 99.78% of the route length, corresponding to an area of ​​about 221.87 ha/260.76 ha; Lang Son province has handed over 51.88 km/52 km, equivalent to 99.77% of the route length, corresponding to an area of ​​about 372.58 ha/372.97 ha.

With the spirit of "3 shifts, 4 shifts", "overcoming the sun, overcoming the rain, not losing to storms", "eating and sleeping quickly", "not enough work during the day, taking advantage of the night", "only working without talking about backing down"... to speed up the project's progress, contractors are currently mobilizing more than 1,000 personnel and more than 350 machines and equipment to deploy 27 construction fronts with many items (such as bridges, tunnels, culverts).

By December 7, 2024, 2 tunnels of tunnel No. 2 (Dong Khe tunnel) on the expressway had been opened, 3 months ahead of schedule. As of December 31, 2024, the project had disbursed more than VND 1,191 billion, reaching 61.6% of the 2024 capital plan; of which more than VND 337 billion was disbursed from state capital to support construction of works and infrastructure systems.

In the coming time, the People's Committee of Cao Bang province will continue to direct relevant agencies and units to speed up site clearance work, continue to mobilize maximum human resources and construction machinery, determined to soon complete and put Dong Dang - Tra Linh expressway into operation, contributing to promoting socio-economic development in the area.

Providing more information at the conference, the leader of the Cao Bang Provincial Traffic Project Investment and Construction Management Board said: The remaining 1% of the land is mainly residential land, unable to complete resettlement for people and some items arising during the project implementation process. The Project Management Board will actively coordinate with local authorities to soon complete resettlement work in February 2025, strive to open the project route in 2025 and put the project into operation by 2026 in accordance with the direction of the Prime Minister.
