Opening of the access road to Rach Mieu 2 Bridge

Attending the event were Hero of the People's Armed Forces Huynh Van Be - former Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; former Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Vo Thanh Hao; Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee - Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Council Ho Thi Hoang Yen; Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Tran Thanh Lam; Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Minh Canh.

The Rach Mieu 2 bridge access road project has a total length of 18.1km, 8m wide roadbed, 7m wide road surface, designed speed of 40km/h, designed axle load of 10 tons, bridges on the route include: Ba Lai, Tam Son, Song Ma. The total investment of the project is 1,158 billion VND, invested by the central budget supported by the Socio-economic Recovery and Development Program and local counterpart budget. Construction time of the project is from July 14, 2023 to April 30, 2025.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Minh Canh emphasized the role of people's consensus so that the project can be implemented on time as required.

The Rach Mieu 2 Bridge Access Road Project, once completed and put into use, will ensure convenient connection for residents on both sides of the Rach Mieu 2 Bridge Access Road and be in sync with the urban planning in the area that has been and is being implemented, contributing to changing the urban appearance and developing the regional economy.

On behalf of the provincial leaders, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Minh Canh said: "Along with the construction project of Rach Mieu 2 Bridge invested by the Ministry of Transport (now the Ministry of Construction) which was completed on April 19, 2025, the road leading to Rach Mieu 2 Bridge is identified as one of the key projects of Ben Tre province in the period of 2021 - 2025, a highlight to continue to fully exploit the potential for socio-economic development of the province.

Delegates performed the ribbon cutting ceremony to open the access road to Rach Mieu 2 Bridge .

According to Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Minh Canh, the project has been implemented on schedule, ensuring quality with the close coordination and determination of the investor, consultants, contractors, especially the support of the people in the project area who agreed on the policy, promptly relocated houses and architecture, crops and livestock to hand over the construction site on time as required.

The delegation's convoy moved on Ba Lai bridge, which is on the access road to Rach Mieu 2 bridge.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Minh Canh emphasized: "The opening ceremony of the access road to Rach Mieu 2 Bridge marks an important link in the construction process of the project, creating a premise for completing the entire investment project to build Rach Mieu 2 Bridge connecting Tien Giang and Ben Tre provinces before September 2, 2025".
