Authorities seized over 450 packs of smuggled cigarettes.

HNN.VN - On the afternoon of October 8th, the leaders of the City Market Management Department informed that Team No. 2 of the Market Management Department had just inspected PN Trading and Service Co., Ltd. (Ly Thai To Street, Huong An Ward, Hue City), headed by Ms. Nguyen Thi PN, for suspected trading of imported cigarettes of unknown origin.

Specifically, during an inspection on the afternoon of October 7th, authorities noted that the establishment was selling a large quantity of imported cigarettes without invoices or documents proving their legal origin. These products also lacked import stamps and health warning labels as required by Vietnamese law.

The total amount of confiscated illegal goods included 458 packs of cigarettes, of which 119 packs were JET brand and 339 packs were ESSE brand, all of which are imported cigarettes prohibited from circulation without legal documentation.

Based on the regulations in Decree No. 98/2020/ND-CP (amended and supplemented by Decree 17/2022/ND-CP and Decree 24/2025/ND-CP), all the cigarettes in question have been identified as smuggled goods. Market Management Team No. 2 has now drawn up a violation report, temporarily seized all the evidence, and is continuing to complete the dossier for processing according to the law.
