Revoking a series of licenses to publish functional foods and medical devices

The Ministry of Health has just decided to revoke a series of functional food product declaration licenses of 4 large enterprises, and at the same time, the Hanoi Department of Health also revoked 415 declarations of medical equipment standards of types A and B that did not meet requirements in June 2025.

According to Decision No. 1450/QD-ATTP of the Food Safety Department, the certificate of registration of the health protection food product Kingphar Super Kid announced by Vinh Thinh Vuong Production & Trading Company Limited ( Hung Yen ) was revoked.

Similarly, in Decision No. 313/QD-ATTP, the product Enterovina of Nguyen Minh Pharmaceutical & Trading Company Limited ( Hanoi ) was also recalled.

The Food Safety Department continues to recall 4 products of Kingphar Vietnam Joint Stock Company including Nato Thong Huyet-Kingphar, Menmoren Ginkgo Plus, Digestive Enzyme Drink Tube and Omega 3-6-9 Plus Q10 Kingphar.

In addition, two products Nano IQ Mama Care (pills for pregnant women) and Nano IQ Aquamin F (calcium and vitamin supplement) of Nano Pharma Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company (Hanoi) were also recalled according to Decision No. 315/QD-ATTP.

These recall decisions are based on the self-revocation of product registration applications by the relevant enterprises.

The Ministry of Health has also just issued Official Dispatch 3839/BYT-BH directing the rectification of procurement and bidding for traditional medicine and advance payment of health insurance medical examination and treatment costs after reflecting violations at a number of medical examination and treatment facilities.

The Ministry requires units to strictly implement, ensure publicity and transparency, and avoid taking advantage of regulations to increase drug prices, especially for herbal medicines and traditional medicines.

In June 2025, the Hanoi Department of Health revoked 415 standard announcements applicable to type A and B medical devices because they did not meet the definition of medical devices or did not meet the intended use.

Deputy Director in charge of the Department of Health, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Hung, said that the violating units carried out the declaration procedure incorrectly and made mistakes in the medical equipment management process.

Enterprises whose declarations had many numbers revoked include Bao Sam Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company (20 products), Phuc Cuong Oriental Medicine Company Limited and Elaphe Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company (8 products each), V&S Vietnam Pharmaceutical Company Limited (7 numbers), Hanoi Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company (6 numbers), and many other units with a number of 5 or more declaration numbers.

Notably, the Vietnam Institute of Traditional Medicine also had 5 product announcements for gels, creams, sinus sprays, and nasal sprays revoked due to violations of regulations on false announcements.

Previously, the Hanoi Department of Health had decided to recall 125 and 100 medical equipment standard announcements of type A and B respectively due to non-compliance with regulations. The recalled products mainly include nasal sprays, ophthalmic solutions, sinus medications, cough and cold throat sprays, eye protection gels, throat gargles, mouthwashes, etc.

The Hanoi Department of Health is promoting the application of information technology, building a national database on medical equipment, publicizing product information, declaration numbers and test results.

Applying QR codes helps trace product origins effectively, contributes to improving hospital quality management and ensuring safety for patients and medical staff.

Dr. Nguyen Dinh Hung affirmed that the Hanoi Department of Health has enhanced professional capacity, standardized processes and quality standards, and closely monitored hospitals to detect and promptly handle problems.
