These two products are marketed and manufactured by Marico South East Asia Joint Stock Company (currently located at No. 3, Street No. 5, Song Than 1 Industrial Park, Di An Ward, Ho Chi Minh City).
The Botanika hand wash for protecting skin and cleaning hands in the kitchen - 500g bottle, with label reading: Lot number 706, expiration date: 10/10/2028, and the Xmen for Boss Intense perfumed shower gel - 180g bottle, with label reading: Lot number: D46, expiration date: 30/7/2028.

The reason for the recall, as stated by the Drug Administration of Vietnam ( Ministry of Health ), is that the product in circulation has a formula that does not match the information declared in the submitted documents.
Previously, authorities took samples for testing, which revealed that the samples contained sodium benzoate, an ingredient not listed on the product label. This is a common preservative used to inhibit the growth of bacteria and mold.
In explaining this issue, Marico South East Asia Joint Stock Company stated that the Cocamidopropyl Betaine ingredient used in production contains Sodium benzoate, but this was not declared in the Cosmetic Product Declaration Form.
The Drug Administration Department has requested this company to review all batches of Botanika Hand Sanitizer for Kitchen Use and Xmen for Boss Intense Perfumed Shower Gel and recall them if similar violations are found; and to report to the Department before June 10th.
All healthcare facilities nationwide are required to notify the public to immediately stop trading and using the two batches of products in question. The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health is responsible for supervising Marico South East Asia Joint Stock Company in the recall and destruction of the non-compliant product batches; and for revoking the product registration numbers for these two cosmetic products.
