12 food and nutritional products in the form of powdered milk are counterfeit and must be recalled nationwide, according to the latest announcement from the Food Safety Department sent to the health departments of provinces and cities.

According to the list announced by the Department of Food Safety ( Ministry of Health ) on the evening of April 23, there are currently 12 food and nutritional products (in the form of powdered milk) that have been identified as counterfeit goods and need to be recalled by localities.

The Food Safety Department said it had received a dispatch from the Ministry of Public Security's Investigation Police Agency requesting coordination in the fight against crime and detection of illegal acts, including identifying 12 food and nutritional products (in the form of powdered milk) as counterfeit.

The Food Safety Department requests the health departments of provinces and cities; the Department of Food Safety of Ho Chi Minh City; the Food Safety Management Board of Da Nang City; and the food safety and hygiene departments of provinces and cities to review, inspect and coordinate with local competent authorities to recall all 12 food and nutrition products (in the form of powdered milk) that are counterfeit goods currently on the market; coordinate with the Investigation Police Agency of the Ministry of Public Security to handle and resolve according to the provisions of law.

Health departments need to advise people not to use 72 milk products under investigation by Rance Pharma International Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company and Hacofood Nutrition Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company until the final conclusion of the Police Agency.

At the same time, strengthen inspection, examination, handling of violations of food safety and inspection and post-inspection of fake and poor quality food.
