To increase the value of agricultural products, Son La province actively calls for businesses to invest in agricultural processing industry, closely linking production, processing and consumption of products. In the past 3 years, the province's agricultural processing industry has developed in the right direction and achieved many positive results.
In the period of 2021-2023, Son La province has granted new investment policies for 6 projects, including: Export vegetable and fruit processing factory of Doveco Son La Food and Vegetable Processing Center Project; BHL Son La Glucose liquid sugar processing factory; agricultural product processing factory, Nafoods Tay Bac Joint Stock Company; Moc Chau agricultural product processing and preservation investment project of Tay Bac Trading Company; Moc Chau ecological farm complex and high-tech dairy farm project of Moc Chau Dairy Cow Breeding Joint Stock Company; Coffee processing factory of Son La Coffee Processing Joint Stock Company. Up to now, 2 factories have been put into operation, including: Coffee processing factory of Son La Coffee Processing Joint Stock Company, Doveco Food and Vegetable Processing Center.
Inaugurated and put into operation for nearly 2 years, Doveco Son La Vegetable and Fruit Processing Center is expected to be one of the leading vegetable and fruit processing centers in the province. Ms. Nguyen Hang Nga, Deputy Director in charge of Doveco Son La Vegetable and Fruit Processing Center, said: From the beginning of the 2024 production season until now, Dong Giao Food Export Joint Stock Company has purchased over 8,700 tons of vegetables and fruits of all kinds; of which, about 2,000 tons of mango. According to the plan, from now until the end of the year, the Company will purchase over 60,000 tons of agricultural products of all kinds; of which, 10,000 tons of passion fruit; 1,000 tons of longan, 20,000 tons of mango and other agricultural products.
Up to now, Son La province has nearly 60 factories and production and processing facilities, mainly processing agricultural products such as tea, coffee, sugar products, milk, cassava starch... Agricultural processing factories operate effectively, constantly developing raw material areas according to the chain, such as: Son La Sugarcane Joint Stock Company signed contracts to produce and consume sugarcane with nearly 10,000 households; enterprises and cooperatives participated in linking production and consumption of coffee with 12,000 households; Moc Chau Dairy Cow Breeding Joint Stock Company linked with nearly 513 households in livestock farming and hundreds of households growing corn, serving the TMR Factory... In addition to serving the domestic market, the products have been exported to countries around the world.
After more than 6 years of operation, Phuc Sinh Son La Joint Stock Company has made a new step forward. This is the first factory to put into operation the Cacara tea processing line, including: Food standard fruit washing system, peeling, UV drying; multi-function cold drying system, ensuring to preserve the original flavor and color; automatic packaging of square filter bags, triangular filter bags, designed capacity of 0.5 tons of tea/production batch. Previously, all coffee fruit shells were used as fertilizer or fuel, the Company put into operation the Cascara tea production line, creating a special tea product with high economic value and well received by the European market.
Mr. Nguyen Van Bac, Director of the Department of Industry and Trade, said: The processing industry of Son La province has developed in both quantity and quality. Currently, the whole province has 17 factories, 543 agricultural processing facilities, each year, the processing capacity ranges from several tens to thousands of tons of mango, longan, coffee, cassava, pineapple, plum, sweet corn, banana, macadamia, hawthorn, passion fruit, vegetables, tubers... contributing to reducing the pressure on fresh fruit consumption, increasing the value of agricultural products.
In July, the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee agreed to invest in the Mavin Mai Son Animal Feed and Agricultural Products Processing Complex Project. The relevant agencies are reviewing and finalizing the project documents and proposals according to the direction of the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee. Ensure that the proposed investment project is in the list of industries and occupations with special investment incentives or investment incentives, in line with the investment attraction objectives approved by the Provincial Party Committee Executive Committee in Resolution No. 06-NQ/TU.
Along with that, Son La province continues to promote administrative procedure reform, improve the investment and business environment, do a good job of attracting investors; especially attracting agricultural product processing projects; create favorable conditions for enterprises to participate in proposing orders, presiding over scientific and technological tasks of the province. Complete the system of agricultural product consumption channels closely connected along the value chain. Form "locomotive" enterprises as the core, promote the processing industry along the chain, increase the value of agricultural products, create more jobs for local workers. Strive by 2025, the production value of agricultural product processing industry of Son La province reaches 6,500 billion VND.
