The program that Truong Kiet Minh is studying is a new model of talent training, a regular university transfer to a master's degree lasting 8 years. According to the schedule, at the age of 23, the valedictorian of the young talent class will graduate with a master's degree.
Sharing his feelings, Truong Kiet Minh was happy to have completed his goal. 'Three out of one', but the male student was not comfortable because he had to shoulder many heavy tasks. As the valedictorian of the 2023 gifted youth class, in everyone's eyes, Truong Kiet Minh is a genius. However, the 14-year-old male student believes that a genius needs the following factors: "First is ability, demonstrated through diligence and willingness to learn and explore. Second is outstanding intelligence, from the perspective of logical thinking."
Based on the above two factors, Truong Kiet Minh denied that he was a genius because he was not eager to learn. "I was in a bad mood, I didn't want to study" , the male student revealed his bad habit. At that time, the teachers would talk and give Truong Kiet Minh psychological counseling. The secret to learning "logical thinking, good generalization"
Truong Kiet Minh said that the most important thing to be good is to learn how to manage time and think logically from the general to the specific. Apply it to yourself, the 14-year-old freshman shared.
Firstly, in terms of time, the male student takes advantage of the break time to review and systematize his knowledge. After dinner, while his friends are hanging out, Truong Kiet Minh takes the opportunity to do his homework. Arranging a suitable study schedule helps the 14-year-old freshman's schedule to be more varied than his friends', making it easier to participate in many activities during the day such as: Reading books, playing Go and extracurricular activities...
Second, regarding how to systematize knowledge and summarize main ideas, Truong Kiet Minh believes that this process depends on habits, and if practiced regularly, skills will improve. "Most of the learning content in textbooks is spread out, so good students must know how to generalize and synthesize knowledge to apply theory to practice," said the 14-year-old male student.
Recalling the preparation process for the entrance exam of Xi'an Jiaotong University, Zhang Jieming said: "My secret to studying is good logical thinking and generalization. To grasp the theoretical content, I combine the scattered knowledge into a complete system chain."
Specifically for Math, before solving exercises, Truong Kiet Minh often systematizes related knowledge. Sets up hypotheses in every case, then finds the fastest way to solve the problem. At the end of each topic, the male student summarizes the points to note, then consolidates the theory one last time.
By applying this method to his subjects, Zhang Jieming's score topped the 2023 youth talent selection exam of Xi'an Jiaotong University.
Truong Kiet Minh revealed that young talents today are not geniuses with high IQs or 'bookworms' like the sages: "Our lives are rich, colorful, and our state is neither 'rolling' nor 'lying down'."
Sharing his interests, the 14-year-old boy said: "I am interested in the moves in Go because they can change the situation unexpectedly. The lesson of 'taking one step and losing everything' helps me be cautious in communication and work, the habit of 'taking one step and seeing ten' helps me see far and wide."
"After playing Go, I learned to be more careful and solve problems more flexibly. The spirit of 'not being arrogant when winning and not being discouraged when losing' helped me develop a strong mentality and the ability to deal with failure. It gave me the courage to win and not to give up, to persevere to achieve success," said the 14-year-old freshman who was directly admitted to a master's degree.
Selection exam for 'Young Talent Class'
Xi'an Jiaotong University is one of nine universities initiated by the Chinese government under the 211 and 985 projects. Of these, 211 is a project of 100 universities built by the Chinese government for socio-economic development. 985 is a project of the government in conjunction with the Chinese Ministry of Education to build world-class universities.

Truong Kiet Minh said that in 2023, the exam will focus on testing thinking, evaluating processing and problem-solving methods: "Compared with the normal exam, the selection of young talents is different in purpose, content and knowledge assessment points".
The common points of today's young talents are noble ideals, strong personalities, perseverance to the end and not admitting failure, diverse interests, optimism and daring to think and do.
