The Brazilian goalkeeper described the moment his family erupted with joy when the list was announced, with a boisterous celebratory atmosphere in the living room. However, he insisted he would maintain absolute professionalism to focus on his duties with the national team.

This is Weverton's second World Cup appearance, following his participation in the 2022 World Cup. In Qatar, he only made one appearance in the 4-1 victory against South Korea in the round of 16. Prior to that, the goalkeeper won a gold medal at the 2016 Olympics with Brazil and also made one appearance at the 2021 Copa America in the victory against Colombia in the group stage.

At the 2026 World Cup, Brazil will begin their journey on June 14th in New Jersey, with their opening match against Morocco. Coach Carlo Ancelotti's team is expected to win the title after a long wait since 2002.
