On October 16, the Economic Department of Song Cong City coordinated with Thai Nguyen University of Agriculture and Forestry to pilot a model of raising commercial pigs using natural food supplemented with Thai Nguyen green tea at the farm of Mr. Nguyen Van Ngu's family, Director of the Green Cooperative, Luong Son Ward. Some pig farmers in Binh Son Commune (Song Cong City) also participated in the model.

The experimental model was carried out at Mr. Nguyen Van Ngu's farm, with a total of 20 pigs. The pig feed is all natural food including: rice bran, corn bran, soybeans, multivitamins... fermented with probiotics combined with Thai Nguyen green tea powder (ratio 3%).
Before implementing the model, the Economic Department of Song Cong City conducted a survey of the actual pig farms of households raising commercial pigs from natural feed supplemented with green tea ingredients to ensure standards for local application. The City Economic Department also provided technical guidance on adding the right amount of green tea powder and microbial fermentation techniques to households participating in the model.

According to a representative of Thai Nguyen University of Agriculture and Forestry, pigs fed with natural food supplemented with green tea will have increased immunity and reduce common diseases in the digestive tract. In particular, Polyphenol in green tea can reduce the total amount of fat in the animal's body and reduce the average thickness of back fat; reduce cholesterol accumulation in the body.
