Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized that Vietnam and China are two close neighbors, “mountains connected to mountains, rivers connected to rivers”. The two Parties, two countries and peoples have given each other valuable support and assistance in the past struggle for national independence and in the present-day building of socialism.
Vietnam always attaches importance to maintaining and developing the Vietnam-China comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership; considering this a consistent, strategic, long-term policy and a top priority in Vietnam's foreign policy.
