Losing to Japan on penalties, Thai women's futsal finished second in the Asian tournament

The final match of the 2025 Asian Women's Futsal Championship between Japan and Thailand was exciting and extremely dramatic. The two teams were quite similar in skill level, so the professional quality of the final match was quite high.

The Japanese women's futsal team took the lead twice but the Thai women's futsal team successfully equalized twice.

After a 40-minute draw, the two teams entered extra time. Here, the scenario was reversed when the Thai women's futsal team was the team that found the winning goal.

In the 42nd minute, Paerploy Huajaipetch's tricky shot sent the ball through the legs of two Japanese players and the goalkeeper, raising the score to 3-2 for Thailand.

But Japan proved they were also very tenacious when they immediately found the equalizer 3-3 thanks to Yukari Miyahara with a powerful shot from close range.

Continuing to be undecided, the two teams entered a penalty shootout to determine the champion.

Here, the Japanese women's futsal team defeated Thailand 3-2 to win the championship. This is the first time Japan has won the Asian Futsal Championship after 3 times reaching the final.
