| The Global Innovation Index (GII) is considered a tool for measuring and evaluating the development capacity of economies. Many countries even view the GII as an important benchmark for state management of science and technology, and for building and improving mechanisms and policies to promote socio-economic development. According to the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) GII Report 2023, Vietnam ranked 46th out of 132 countries, an increase of two places compared to 2022. Vietnam is also considered one of the seven middle-income countries that have made the most progress in innovation over the past decade. To achieve this result, the Vietnamese government has allocated significant resources to promote innovation through the development of modern technologies. In particular, blockchain, along with Artificial Intelligence (AI), the Internet of Things (IoT), and Big Data, hold the top position in the list of priority areas for research, development, and application to proactively participate in the Fourth Industrial Revolution, as stipulated in Decision 2117/QD-TTg dated December 16, 2020, of the Prime Minister. |
