The forum is a space for exchanging and sharing experiences and strengths in technology, science , innovation and digital transformation of representatives of French organizations and companies in the context of the two countries actively cooperating in bilateral development.

Speaking at the Forum, Professor Serge Haroche, a scientist awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics in 2012 for his pioneering contributions in the field of quantum physics, emphasized the potential for Vietnam to gradually become a regional quantum technology center.

According to Professor Serge Haroche, for the quantum field, as well as other fields, to develop institutes and schools, it is necessary to create conditions for scientists to research the topics they like and then transfer that research into practice. It is important to create space with very favorable conditions for young, excellent researchers to conduct research activities; at the same time, Vietnam also needs to pay attention to research in the private sector. On that basis, to develop applied research, it is also necessary to consider and harmonize the roles of the state and the private sector.

Along with that, Vietnam focuses on creating a solid foundation of general education in basic sciences such as mathematics, physics, chemistry...; at the same time, there is a long-term, continuous science development policy and large financial support from the state for research projects.

Mr. Olivier Brochet, French Ambassador to Vietnam, said that 2025 is the "France - Vietnam Year of Innovation", launched by France to promote cooperation and exchange in the field of innovation between the two countries.

“This forum is an event to promote scientific research, develop and apply strategic technologies; and is a bridge to promote public-private cooperation, connecting universities, state agencies and businesses to create a sustainable innovation ecosystem in Vietnam,” affirmed Mr. Olivier Brochet.

Also at the Forum, Ms. Kim Ngoc Thanh Nga, Deputy Director of the National Innovation Center (NIC), affirmed that after Vietnam and France established a comprehensive strategic partnership, cooperation on innovation has become an important pillar in bilateral relations. The two countries share a vision of promoting trade cooperation, digital transformation and sustainable development.

According to the Deputy Director of NIC, France, with its strengths in basic research, high technology and innovative startup ecosystem, can support Vietnam in the process of developing human resources, transferring technology and building innovation centers. On the contrary, Vietnam, with its dynamic market, young workforce and ability to quickly apply new technology, is a potential environment for French creative ideas to be implemented in practice. This connection promises to open up many opportunities for strategic cooperation, contributing to promoting trade cooperation between Vietnam and France.

The Forum “Unleashing the potential of Vietnam-France innovation” takes place in the context that 2025 is identified as the Vietnam-France Innovation Year, marking an important step forward in the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two countries. The event is not only an opportunity for the two sides to strengthen their connection, but also an opportunity to promote cooperation in strategic technology fields such as quantum technology, semiconductors, artificial intelligence, cyber security and aerospace, contributing to forming a solid foundation for the development of science, technology and innovation in the new period.

The forum also aims to concretize Resolution No. 57 of the Politburo on promoting the development of science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation; at the same time, implement Decision No. 1131 of the Prime Minister on the List of strategic technologies and technology products.
