On the sidelines of the Western Pacific Naval Command (WPNS) conference held on October 12 in Jeju, South Korea, on the morning of October 11, Vice Admiral Pham Hoai Nam, member of the Party Central Committee and Commander of the Vietnam Navy, had a bilateral meeting with Admiral Murakawa, Commander of the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force, and Vice Admiral Karambir Singh, Commander of the Eastern Navy of India.

At the reception for Admiral Murakawa, Commander of the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force, both sides expressed their joy that the recent visits of the warship Tran Hung Dao to Japan, as well as the visit of a Japanese submarine to Vietnam, were both successful.

Admiral Murakawa said that this year is a great year in the relationship between the two navies, and naval cooperation is also the key to the cooperative relationship between Japan and Vietnam.

Vice Admiral Pham Hoai Nam also expressed his hope that in the coming time, more Japanese ships will visit Vietnam. At the same time, the two navies will continue to strengthen exchanges, coordination, delegations at all levels and send ships to visit each other's ports, contributing to mutual understanding, for the common goal of implementing freedom of navigation at sea, maintaining peace and stability in the region.

Receiving Vice Admiral Karambir Singh, Commander of the Indian Navy's Eastern Region, Vice Admiral Pham Hoai Nam thanked the Indian Navy in particular, as well as the Indian Ministry of Defense in general, for creating favorable conditions to help the Vietnam Navy in a number of cooperation contents.

Vice Admiral Karambir Singh agreed with the Vietnamese side's proposals and conveyed his thanks to the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense and Navy for warmly welcoming the Indian Navy ship during its visit to Vietnam. The Commander of the Eastern Indian Navy also hoped that the two countries would continue to maintain the mechanism of exchanging delegations at all levels and information, and believed that joint exercises would be the foundation for promoting cooperation between the two navies in the coming time.
