During the meeting, the Prime Minister stated that it is necessary to continue promoting Vietnam-EAEU relations with specific agreements and cooperation projects; to better utilize the Free Trade Agreement between Vietnam and the EAEU, further open markets, promote trade and investment, and leverage complementary strengths with the spirit of solidarity for strength, cooperation for resources, exchange to strengthen trust, and harmonious interests and shared risks.
The Prime Minister proposed continuing to effectively implement cooperation mechanisms between the two sides to promptly address technical obstacles; EAEU member countries should consider removing safeguard measures and increasing quotas for some goods for Vietnam; and expanding imports of Vietnamese goods in which Vietnam has strengths, such as agricultural products, seafood, and electronics.
In addition, the Prime Minister suggested studying various forms of supply chain development, maritime transport, railways, logistics, etc., to boost trade between Vietnam and the Central Asian region and each EAEU member country.
The Prime Minister also suggested that the parties study and assess the possibility of adjusting and amending the Vietnam-EAEU Free Trade Agreement to better suit the new situation, based on a comprehensive and overall assessment of the results of its implementation over the past period, ensuring substantive benefits and a balanced benefit for all participating parties; while maintaining and strengthening high-level delegation exchanges; promoting tourism cooperation and people-to-people exchanges; cooperation in science and technology, innovation, and digital transformation; cooperation in minerals; and training of human resources and officials…
The Prime Minister suggested that both sides continue to promote bilateral cooperation, especially in economics , trade, and investment, particularly the exchange of experiences between the two countries in developing international financial centers.
