Starting from videos introducing many beautiful Tet photo locations, a group of friends including Da Thao (26 years old, Tan Phu district), Duong Duong (22 years old, district 8) and Duy Tung (26 years old, Tan Phu district, Ho Chi Minh City) decided to rent ao dai to take some photos.

This is a habit of the group, every year you will choose to rent ao dai to take photos as a way to record the moments of celebrating Tet.

Realizing that many people were also planning to rent ao dai to take Tet photos, the group of friends took advantage of the day off to visit the shop to try on clothes early.

Duong Duong shared that the group chose to rent many ao dai sets to take many styles in one session.

In addition, the group also rented accessories such as clogs, non quai thao and conical hats, which are simple but still very outstanding. Three people only need to rent one set of accessories to use together, which is both cost-effective and convenient to carry.

"Because we like natural and simple scenes, the group chose Binh Quoi tourist area and Independence Palace to take pictures" - Duy Tung confided.

Ao Dai rental service is bustling since November

According to records, many Ao Dai rental shops in Ho Chi Minh City are starting to get busy, especially on weekends.

The number of customers looking to rent started to increase from the beginning of November, causing many stores to be overloaded with rental applications. In addition, online ao dai rental services have also become very active.

Many stores display a wide variety of ao dai for both men and women, in a variety of colors, styles and sizes.

There are also many Tet photo accessories such as apricot branches, peach branches, bags, fans, wooden clogs, scarves, hairpins, and many other items.

Shops in Ho Chi Minh City mainly provide mid-range and high-end ao dai, with prices ranging from a few tens to a few hundred thousand dong, depending on the brand value and newness of the ao dai.

Ms. Ta Quan Ngoc, owner of an ao dai rental shop on Dang Van Ngu Street, Phu Nhuan District, said that every year after Christmas, the number of customers starts to increase.

However, this year the number of customers increased from around the beginning of November, especially on weekends. In order to meet the demand for renting ao dai, the shop has prepared many designs early and increased the number of staff to serve customers looking to rent.

Traditional ao dai designs such as ao tac, ao nhat binh, ao giao linh and vien linh are sought after by many customers.

In addition, many young people also choose modernized ao dai for their photo shoots.

The rental price of Ao Dai ranges from 70,000-120,000 VND for regular models, 140,000-240,000 VND for branded Ao Dai, and from 200,000-320,000 VND for Vietnamese traditional costumes.

“The store has offered many promotions such as a rental price of 88,000 VND for students, a 50% discount for customers with birthdays or renting 2 for the price of 1, and a 20% discount for all customers during this Tet season.

The store offers 1-day and 3-day rental packages, in which most customers often choose to rent for 1 day" - Ms. Ngoc shared.

Ms. Dung, owner of a costume rental shop on Ho Ba Kien Street, District 10, said that to meet the increased demand for renting ao dai during Tet, the shop has displayed about 200 ao dai designs for men and more than 1,000 ao dai designs for women.

As for Vietnamese costumes, there are about a few dozen to 100 designs.

In particular, party costume rental services also increase during the Tet holiday.

“During the time near Tet, the store rents out a few hundred sets on average every day. Accessories are sought after by many young people, with rental prices ranging from 10,000 to 200,000 VND,” said Ms. Dung.

Trinh Kim Nhi (17 years old, District 7) shared: "My friends and I came here to rent ao dai to participate in a school contest.

Renting ao dai not only helps save money, but also gives us more choices with a variety of designs."
