On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025) and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025), on August 19, the Vietnam Military History Museum coordinated with the Political Department of the Navy, Tan Ha Noi Arts Company Limited, and Bao Viet Life Insurance Corporation to organize the art exhibition "Historical Days" at the Vietnam Military History Museum (Thang Long Avenue, Xuan Phuong Ward, Hanoi).

Speaking at the opening of the exhibition, Colonel Le Vu Huy, Director of the Vietnam Military History Museum, said that the art exhibition “Historical Days” originated from the passion and feelings of journalist and painter Nguyen Thi Thu Thuy. With a revolutionary family tradition and a passion for art, the artist contacted and mobilized painters and sculptors to collect more than 200 typical works of art, showing the labor, fighting and production activities of our soldiers and people during the resistance war against France and the US; some works were about President Ho Chi Minh and the Vietnamese people; about the Vietnam People's Navy and the sacred sea and islands of the Fatherland.

“The exhibition is an opportunity to honor the silent artistic creations of painters and sculptors through many generations; at the same time, widely promote fine art works on revolutionary history themes, contributing to the education of traditions, creating motivation to successfully carry out the task of building and defending the socialist Vietnamese Fatherland in the new era of the country,” Colonel Le Vu Huy affirmed.

The highlight of the exhibition is the introduction of a collection of oil paintings about the resistance war against France and the US by Colonel and painter Le Huy Toan; a collection of battlefield sketches during the resistance war against the US honoring those who sacrificed silently, such as special forces soldiers, female guerrillas, female militia, ethnic mothers, foster brothers, etc. by painters Le Lam, Pham Ngoc Lieu, and Phan Oanh.
