On the afternoon of July 5th, the Standing Committee of the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee held a meeting with agencies in the Internal Affairs sector. Comrade Nguyen Van Thong, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, chaired and directed the meeting.

Overview of the conference.

Assessments show that in June, the political security situation and social order in the province remained basically stable. The armed forces strictly maintained combat readiness, coordinated closely to monitor the situation, and ensured security and order; they proactively detected and advised on the effective handling of emerging incidents, preventing any security and order complications.

Authorities have launched a comprehensive campaign, implementing measures to prevent, combat, and strictly punish all types of crimes and social vices. Investigation, prosecution, and trial processes are being focused on by the relevant judicial agencies. Sectors within the Internal Affairs bloc have actively implemented their 2024 work program, continuing to strengthen their organizational structure and build a team of officials with sufficient professional capacity and political integrity to meet the demands of the new situation.

Party committees and authorities at all levels have paid attention to receiving citizens, handling complaints, denunciations, petitions, and feedback from citizens in accordance with regulations, especially cases of complaints from households related to compensation for land clearance along National Highway 1A. Efforts to prevent and combat smuggling, commercial fraud, counterfeit goods, prohibited goods, substandard goods, and food safety have been intensified; civil enforcement has seen many positive changes; and fire prevention, firefighting, search and rescue measures have been implemented promptly.

During the meeting, after hearing reports from leaders of agencies within the Internal Affairs sector, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee requested that in July, the armed forces continue to strictly maintain their combat readiness; coordinate with local authorities to organize patrols and controls to protect border and maritime sovereignty , ensuring national security and social order in the area. They were also instructed to strengthen intelligence gathering and security in all areas; and to ensure absolute safety for important provincial events, high-ranking Party and State leaders, and international guests visiting and working in Nghe An.

The Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee also requested continued timely handling and resolution of complex, prominent issues of public concern. Party committees and authorities at all levels should continue to effectively carry out citizen reception, direct dialogue, and address citizens' feedback and suggestions; focusing on effectively resolving complex issues at the grassroots level, avoiding passivity and unexpected situations. Agencies and units within the Internal Affairs sector should also continue to intensify the fight against and suppression of all types of crimes and violations of the law, especially crimes against social order, economic crimes, environmental crimes, drug crimes, high-tech crimes, and online fraud; strengthen market management; protect forests; and carry out fire prevention, firefighting, rescue, and relief operations. Timely coordination is needed to strictly handle acts of transporting and trading counterfeit and substandard goods, and violations of food safety and hygiene regulations. Coordination is also essential for detecting, transferring, receiving, classifying, and resolving reports and denunciations of crimes, recommending prosecution, arrest, detention, and investigation of criminal offenses. Furthermore, efforts to detect and address corruption and negative practices through inspection, supervision, auditing, and complaint resolution should be strengthened; and the recovery of assets lost or misappropriated in corruption, economic, and negative cases should be intensified. The Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee also requested a focus on resolving difficulties and obstacles in cases under the supervision and direction of the Standing Committee and the Provincial Steering Committee; and maintaining the systematic and effective operation of the Provincial Steering Committee.
