According to information from the company, at 10:00 AM today, October 20th, the upstream water level of the reservoir reached nearly 61.5m, the downstream water level at the plant was 2.5m, and the water inflow into the reservoir was approximately 804 m³/second.
Based on the regulations and water levels, the company will release water through the reservoir's spillway at 2 PM on October 21st, with a discharge rate of 160 m³/second. At that time, the total amount of water released downstream is expected to range from 910 to 980 m³/second.
Depending on weather conditions, the water level in the reservoir, and the downstream water level at the Bien Hoa hydrological station, Tri An Hydropower Company will adjust the discharge flow accordingly to ensure the safety of the dam and the downstream area.
The company recommends that local authorities and residents in the downstream area of the Dong Nai River closely monitor flood release information and proactively take preventive measures to ensure the safety of people and property.
Tri An Hydroelectric Power Plant is the largest hydroelectric project in Southern Vietnam, built on the Dong Nai River in Tri An commune. Besides its primary function of generating electricity, the plant plays a crucial role in regulating water resources, mitigating floods downstream, and ensuring water supply for domestic use, agricultural production, and industry in the southeastern provinces.
