Thuy Linh continues to have a difficult match

Despite having a much higher ranking, Thuy Linh had a more difficult match than expected.

In set 1, Thuy Linh completely overwhelmed Nithittikrai. The No. 1 seed quickly created a gap of 7-1, then 14-7, 19-9, before winning 21-10.

Set 2 saw a strong comeback from Nithittikrai. The Thai player quickly took a 6-2 lead and then extended his lead to 12-5, 19-11 and won 21-13.

But this was also the best Nithittikrai could do in this match.

In the deciding set 3, Thuy Linh proved her class as the number 1 seed when she quickly took a 10-5, 15-6 lead.

Although Nithittikrai then had consecutive points to shorten the score to 19-17, Thuy Linh played with concentration at the decisive moments to win 21-18.

Defeating Nithittikrai 2-1 (21-10, 13-21, 21-18) after 59 minutes of play, Thuy Linh has entered the semi-finals of the Vietnam Open for the fourth consecutive year.

In the round of 4 strongest players, Thuy Linh will face Korean opponent - Kim Min Ji (ranked 123rd in the world).
