Bich Phuong (left) won silver medal and created many surprises at the International Series tournament in Malaysia.
During the tournament in Malaysia, Phuong created many surprises right from the first round, when he eliminated No. 1 seed Nutnalin Rattanapanuwong (Thailand) after only 2 sets.
Next, the young tennis player from Hanoi defeated Yi Tsen Hsieh and Chen Han (Chinese Taipei) in turn. In the semi-finals on the afternoon of September 13, Phuong continued to play explosively, coming from behind to defeat 5th seed Kim Joo Eun (Korea) 2-1.
Having grown up through many national and international youth tournaments, Bich Phuong won gold medals in women's singles and national mixed doubles; silver medals in women's singles at the national youth tournament; bronze medals in team and women's doubles at the ASEAN Schools Games 2024.
Also this year, Bich Phuong and teammate Pham Van Truong reached the quarterfinals of the mixed doubles at the Sri Lanka Challenge 2025, a tournament also under the BWF system.
Although these international tournaments are not part of the Super Tour system, they are important stepping stones for young Hanoi tennis players to accumulate points and experience, aiming for bigger goals like the Vietnam Open 2025.
