On the afternoon of November 3, Mr. Tran Quoc Tuan encouraged the women's team before leaving for training in Japan, preparing for the 33rd SEA Games. The head of VFF congratulated the national women's team for their excellent performance in winning a ticket to the 2026 Asian Cup finals (taking place in Australia in March 2026).
Mr. Tuan emphasized the special result when currently there are 5 teams qualified for the 2026 Asian finals, including the Vietnam women's team, the men's futsal team, the Vietnam U23 team, the U17 women's team and the U20 women's team. This is the result of in-depth investment and shows the solid inheritance between generations of Vietnamese women players.

Regarding the preparation for the 33rd SEA Games campaign in Thailand next December, VFF President Tran Quoc Tuan emphasized that the team's mission is to defend the championship, and to complete it, there must be the best preparation.
Accordingly, VFF has developed a specific plan, in which the training trip to Nagoya (Japan) in November is an important step to help the Vietnamese women's team improve their physical strength and compete with high-quality teams. The VFF President affirmed that the Federation will ensure the best logistics so that the team can focus completely on their expertise.
According to the draw results, at the 33rd SEA Games, the Vietnamese women's team is in the same group as the Philippines, Myanmar and Malaysia. The group is considered not easy because the opponents have made strong progress, especially the Philippines with many naturalized players.
“Our group is not easy with the Philippines, Myanmar and Malaysia. In this group, only two teams can advance. In particular, I highly appreciate Myanmar, because they are making clear progress. Therefore, the coaching staff, fitness trainers and experts need to carefully analyze tactics, accurately assess opponents to have a suitable plan.
Success now comes from every detail in the preparation process. To beat the opponent, you must first understand them. You need to limit the opponent's strengths and maximize your own. I am very happy that the current team has many new faces, including players promoted from the U20 team, bringing new vitality.
However, they need more international experience and more effort to reach the Asian Cup. Football always requires constant efforts to overcome one's own limits," said Mr. Tran Quoc Tuan.
Regarding the Vietnamese women's team, coach Mai Duc Chung said the national women's team has completed the first stage of preparation for the 33rd SEA Games. He assessed that the whole team tried their best to practice, despite unfavorable weather conditions.
“The players have made a great effort. The team’s training spirit is very admirable, and this will be an important factor in helping the Vietnamese women’s team achieve the best results at the upcoming SEA Games,” coach Mai Duc Chung affirmed.
According to the plan, the Vietnamese women's team will leave for Japan for training from November 20. Before that, the team will have 3 more practice matches with the HCMC women's club and two amateur football teams from Bac Ninh and Son Tay in the last 2 weeks of training at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center.
