Vietnam team rematches host Laos in Asian Cup qualifiers
While the Vietnamese team looks forward to the away match against Laos in the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers, the Vietnam U.23 team will participate in the 2025 Panda Cup international friendly tournament in China and complete preparations for the 33rd SEA Games.
According to the plan, the Vietnamese team will gather from November 10 to 19, 2025. After gathering at the Vietnam Youth Football Center, the team will move to Viet Tri ( Phu Tho ) to practice from November 11 to 14.
From November 15 to 19, coach Kim Sang-sik and his team will go to Laos to compete in the 5th match of the final qualifying round of the 2027 Asian Cup against the Laos team.

Also during this period, the Vietnam U.23 team will have two consecutive training sessions. In the 4th session in 2025 (from November 10 to 19, 2025), the team will participate in the Panda Cup 2025 international friendly tournament in China, with the participation of quality teams including China U.23, Uzbekistan U.23 and Korea U.23.
In this training session, the Vietnam U.23 team will be led by acting head coach Dinh Hong Vinh, expected to call up about 26 players. Immediately after the end of the tournament in China, the Vietnam U.23 team will enter the 5th training session in 2025 from November 23 to December 19, 2025.

This is also considered the rehearsal period before the 33rd SEA Games. The team will train in Vung Tau from November 23 to 29, then move to Ho Chi Minh City and leave for Thailand on December 2 to attend the Southeast Asian Games .

At the 33rd SEA Games, men's football has 10 participating teams, divided into 3 groups: Group A and B have 3 teams each, and Group C has 4 teams. The teams compete in a round robin; the 3 group winners and the second-placed team with the best record will advance to the semi-finals.
The seed groups are determined by performance and hosting rights, including host Thailand (code A1), Indonesia, Vietnam (group 1); Myanmar, Malaysia, Cambodia (group 2); Timor Leste, Philippines, Laos (group 3) and Singapore (group 4). U.23 Vietnam is in group B, along with Malaysia and Laos.

According to the schedule, the group stage will take place from December 3 to 12, the semi-finals on December 15 and the bronze medal matches and the final on December 18, 2025. Three stadiums have been chosen to host the tournament, including Rajamangala (Bangkok), Tinsulanonda (Songkhla) and 700th Anniversary of Chiangmai (Chiangmai).
Rajamangala will host the semi-finals and finals. In the group stage, Vietnam U23 will meet Laos U23 on December 5 and Malaysia U22 on December 11. Both matches will take place at the 700th Anniversary Stadium, Chiangmai.
