On the afternoon of October 29, at the conference to review the implementation of the memorandum of understanding on cooperation in vocational education in accounting and finance between the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and the Ministry of Education and Training, a representative of ACCA Vietnam said that with the support of the association, colleges in Vietnam can completely train accountants of international standards. A student of a college in Ho Chi Minh City who passed the world's top 6 in the ACCA certification exam in June 2024 is a proof.

According to Ms. Khuat Thi Lien Huong, Head of Training Department, ACCA Association in Vietnam, in more than 20 years of presence in Vietnam, ACCA has cooperated with nearly 50 universities, contributing to the formation of a team of accounting and finance experts meeting international standards. Since 2023, ACCA has expanded its cooperation to the college sector through a memorandum of understanding with the Department of Vocational Education - Continuing Education, Ministry of Education and Training.
After 2.5 years of implementation, ACCA's Diploma in Accounting and Business (RQF Level 4) has been integrated into the college program (VQF Level 5) in Vietnam. Currently, the coordination and support activities to integrate the foundation program into college training have been implemented in 10 schools. In the future, ACCA will continue to support more schools.
This is a breakthrough in vocational education, helping college students access knowledge and skills according to international standards, while facilitating degree recognition and transfer in the global working environment.

More than 98 students have enrolled in the Foundation in Accountancy (FIA) program; more than 75 students have taken the ACCA exam, with a passing rate of 52%. Notably, Nguyen Ngoc Dang Khoa, a student at Ho Chi Minh City College of Economics, achieved the highest score in Vietnam and was in the top 6 in the world for FA1 (financial transaction recording) in the June 2024 exam. "College students achieving such impressive results is a clear testament to the effectiveness and practicality of the integrated training program," said Ms. Huong.
At the conference, ACCA officially transferred the Vietnamese translation of the Foundation in Accounting (FIA) program, helping students overcome language barriers and effectively access international programs.
According to Mr. Pham Vu Quoc Binh, Deputy Director of the Department of Vocational Education and Continuing Education, translating all 7 subjects of the FIA program into Vietnamese is a strategic step to help colleges integrate global standards into their training programs quickly and effectively.
The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) is the world's largest professional body, with a network of over 252,000 members and 526,000 students worldwide. ACCA qualifications and certificates are trusted by global employers across all sectors.
