Vu Quang National Park covers an area of over 57,000 hectares, of which over 52,000 hectares are special-use forests, over 3,600 hectares are protective forests and nearly 608 hectares are production forests. This place is assessed by domestic and foreign experts as the area with the highest biodiversity in the region.
The park has a rich flora with the presence of 1,616 species of useful plants, including some large-sized precious timber trees such as po mu, du sam nui dat, green lim ...; diverse fauna with 94 species of mammals, 316 species of birds, 33 species of amphibians, 316 species of butterflies. Some rare and endangered species endemic to the Truong Son range such as saola, large-antlered muntjac, brown-shanked douc langur, white-cheeked gibbon, Truong Son striped rabbit, sun bear ...
Vu Quang National Park has many beautiful, pristine landscapes, high biodiversity, especially the Ngan Truoi irrigation lake, Da Han irrigation lake with dozens of large and small islands. This is a great potential for developing eco- tourism , resorts, and entertainment, but for many years it has not been effectively exploited.

In early July 2025, the People's Committee of Ha Tinh province issued a decision approving the project on ecotourism, resort and entertainment of Vu Quang National Park, period 2025 - 2030 with the goal of exploiting the natural potentials of landscape, environment, biodiversity and diversity of forest ecosystems, historical and cultural relics to develop ecotourism, resort and entertainment towards sustainable development.
Create a legal basis to attract investment from businesses and investors to create resources for the construction and development of eco-tourism, resorts and entertainment in Vu Quang National Park. At the same time, improve the management capacity of Vu Quang National Park; create conditions for local people to participate in various types of tourism to increase income, raise awareness of forest protection, environmental protection, biodiversity protection and conservation, and promote local cultural values.
With this project, Ha Tinh expects to attract at least 15,000 tourists by 2030, of which the number of international visitors accounts for at least 8% of the total number of tourists. Create regular jobs for about 500 workers, including about 100 direct workers and 400 indirect workers; workers are trained in professional skills and ecotourism associated with community livelihoods.
Attract at least 5 investors to cooperate, link and rent forest environment to develop eco-tourism. Improve quality, diversify and perfect tourism types and products, develop a synchronous and modern tourism infrastructure system, diverse and high-quality tourism products with typical products of Vu Quang National Park.
