Free rabies vaccination in Bach Thong commune.

On March 25th, in Bach Thong commune (Thai Nguyen province), the free rabies vaccination program "For a Vietnam Free from Rabies" was launched, contributing to increasing vaccine coverage and proactively preventing and controlling rabies in the area.

We provide rabies vaccination services at people's homes for their dogs and cats.

The activities, implemented by the Rabies Prevention and Control Project (Vietnam Veterinary Association) in coordination with veterinary agencies and local authorities, aim to effectively control the source of disease transmission from animals.

Bach Thong commune currently has approximately 1,400 dogs and cats. In 2025, the locality recorded a case of rabies in animals; while the vaccination rate is not high, the risk of an outbreak remains. Given this reality, the program aims to vaccinate at least 800 dogs and cats, combined with raising public awareness about safe pet management.

Organizing free vaccination programs not only contributes to increasing vaccine coverage but also changes people's awareness of rabies prevention and control. However, for sustainable rabies prevention and control, people need to proactively get vaccinated regularly, manage their pets carefully, and contribute to protecting public health.
