70 million euro striker angry with Man City

Striker Savinho is unhappy that Man City's board blocked his move to Tottenham this summer.

Savinho cannot join Tottenham.

TBR Football reports that the Brazilian has made it clear he wants to join Spurs after talks between the two clubs progressed over the past week. Tottenham have agreed to pay €70m for Savinho, but City have maintained they have no intention of selling the striker and are under no pressure to let him go.

With Tottenham completing the transfer of Xavi Simons from RB Leipzig for €60 million, the possibility of Savinho moving to Spurs has almost closed. Tottenham cannot wait for Man City to nod after the team has continuously failed in previous targets such as Morgan Gibbs-White and Eberechi Eze.

TBR Football also said that Savinho's future depends on whether Man City can recruit Rodrygo from Real Madrid or not. "Los Blancos" asked for Rodrygo up to 100 million euros, causing this deal to fall into a deadlock. Therefore, Man City also refused to let Savinho leave to preserve their strength for the current season.

Savinho faces stiff competition for a starting spot in Man City's attack. The 21-year-old is yet to feature in 2025/26 after picking up an injury in pre-season. He is expected to return after the FIFA Days in September.

Coach Pep Guardiola also did not guarantee that Savinho would be able to play regularly. He expected his students to fight for their positions.
