After receiving the red-faced monkey, the Forestry Department organized care, protection and promoted the completion of legal procedures to soon release this rare and precious animal into the natural environment.

This is the third wild animal voluntarily handed over by people on May 28 and the seventh animal voluntarily handed over by people since the beginning of the year.

Currently, the red-faced monkey, scientifically named Macaca arctoides, is listed in the Vietnam Red Book, belonging to group IIB, and is regulated in the list of endangered and rare forest animals that need to be strictly preserved and protected.
