On December 4th and 13th, 2020, representatives from the school administration, teachers, and students of the two schools offered incense to express their gratitude to the heroic martyrs who bravely fought and sacrificed for the cause of national liberation at the Hoa Lo Prison Memorial. After lighting the incense, the teachers and students observed a minute of silence in memory of the heroic martyrs. This sacred moment created a solemn atmosphere, reminding teachers and students to always strive for continuous learning and self-improvement to contribute to building their homeland and country.
During this field trip, the students also visited the exhibition rooms at the historical site, gaining a better understanding of the lives of prisoners; they experienced wearing straw hats and hiding in A-shaped bunkers. The stories, combined with sound effects of bombs falling, guns firing, and the rumble of airplanes, helped the students feel the wartime atmosphere that their ancestors had experienced.
Through this field trip and experience, teachers and students were able to review the glorious traditions of previous generations, better understand the past, and appreciate the sacrifices of our ancestors in fighting for and defending the homeland.
